How well does your 900rr fit your body?

I'm 5 ft 7 1/2 inches, 155 lbs.

Just finished a 2 hour ride on my 1993, with only one rest break and I am amazed at how comfortable it was.   I have a tiny bit of normal sore neck and back muscles, but come on.

2 hours of nearly non-stop riding on a sportbike?

It almost feels like this model was designed for people 5 ft 7 in  to  5 ft 9 in tall.

How does your bike feel after a long ride?   Any issues or things you would like improved?

Hi there

I have a 93 model CBR 900 and I have to admit that this is one of the most comfortable bikes too that I have ever ridden. I am a tall dude of 1.9m tall (I think 6ft 4in), and the bike fits me like a glove. I have done no adjustments to the suspension at all and she used to ride like a dream, even on long mountainous jouneys, except a small tweak to the gear lever.

Her carbs are misbehaving a little now so im out of action until I sort out her #4 carb, running too rich and soiling plug, but until then I cant wait to get back on her.

The power of these 900 are awesome!! I have no problem with a pillion as well, even on mountain roads. She handles almost as nimble as riding single. I have a damper on and set it to medium setting as the 93 model was renouned to slapping their riders off when they get a little trigger happy on the throttle.

Anyways, to summarize, awesome bike, great performance, nice fuel economy, excellent comfort and grinning from ear to ear.

Cheers

Last year I did a 3600km trip on 7 days. Had a bit of sore bum and shoulders at the end of the day, and we ran about 1 hour and then 10min breaks all the day.

Oh, and Im 175cm and 70 kilos

I'm 5'11/200 and I've always found the 900 to be the most comfortable sport bike ever produced.  I've had nearly every sport bike made in the last 15 years and with the exception of the Hayabusa (which is really more of a sport tourer, so it doesn't really count) I'd choose the 900RR every time when taking a longer ride.

I have to agree, I'm 5'9 190, and I know there have been days I've been on the 9 for upwards of 800+ miles in a day(rode from South Indy, to Northern Indiana, Charity Ride, and Rode home that night). No major issues to complain about. Bored from running up and down the interstate was about it.

Last week I went for a convoy with 50 other bikes (all type) and the journey back home (nearly 1000km) was a horrible one for me. I had terible sore wrist and shoulder. I hate to blame my bike so I  put it because the journey was a slow one with a lot of stop go(we were going like 140km/h max), the weather was really hot and the road was not so good either.

I'm very suprised in fact to hear from you guys that your riding had been always pleasant. I'm 176cm (5'8") and 72kg (158lbs), not all muscles..lol

Sorry to hear of your wrist and muscle pain Dinez

The only bike where I felt my wrists hurt was on a '06 cbr 600rr.

My '93 900rr seems like it was built for me and only me.   My arms are very long like an ape's and so it is so easy to reach the handlebars.

Try doing situps and other strength exercises, it helps.

Thanks MT, yes I agree that your body strength plays a part of your comfortability of riding too especially sportsbike. When you are up to more competitive level, you need to be superfit in order to race like those motogp fellas.

During my earlier days of biking, I had once with my legs and knees trembling when I went up the hill with some really twisted roads. I really pushed hard going up and down my bike close to dragging my knees but when I stopped at the top of hill I couldn't walk and felt like my knees were shaking.lol

I had a FZ600 before the blade and a ZX7 Ninja before that..

The FZ was a tiny bike, but with fully adjustable bars and rearsets it was eventually with lots of tweaking a very pleasant bike to ride.  The Ninja was a nightmare and honestly the porky old 900 would be perfect with rearsets.. I find myself riding in sneakers as my riding boots are a bit too HD in style and my knees spay out around that tank.  I plan on some new boots as that is cheaper than rearsets!

I spend more time worrying about keeping the front wheel near the ground than how comfortable it is, so it must be comfortable!

If I can help it, this bike will be my last bike.

Or at least my bike for the next 5 - 10 yrs.

Yeah, the CBR900 Fireblade is kinda like one of those mistresses that you just cant let go of, even though there are more beautiful bikes out there. There wont be a another bike that will feel the same again.

Just gives the right amount of big torque without breaking your neck, right amount of roll on power without crapping in your pants, and the right stability that will keep you out of the Emergency Room.

Trully a well rounded machine.

My hands only get a little numb, but thats due to crappy gloves not keeping out the cold wind and i suppose my hand grip needs a bit of strengthening.

I'm 6'0" tall, 195 lbs, and 24 years old. The only problem I had with my '94 900RR was my wrists/grip, i know about the numb feeling. Everything else was great, I have a bad back and my bike didn't bother it at all. A little bit of a stiff neck after a couple hours riding, could be just because this was my first bike and last season was my first riding. I've been doing grip training over the winter so I should be good this year.
