I currently have an HJC CL-14 helmet and I'm looking to buy a KBC helmet. I wear and XL HJC helmet and it fits perfect. I don't know if there are any dealers close to me, but I'm wondering how the KBC helmet fits compared to the HJC. Also where is the cheapest place to buy KBC helmets? I want the satin black helmet with the red vents and the skull on the sides, I can't remember what its called. I want to order it here pretty soon, so any help is appreciated.

Are you sure you have the right helmet in mind?

Here's the KBC helmets...

But, when you say skulls on the sides... I think of the Icon

ok... maybe this one. I never noticed it before.

Forgot to mention... when I tried on the KBC helmets at my local shops they fit the same as my HJC did. But... when I bought my Shoei I had to go up a size because os the extra padding.

Thanks Don, I was talking about the last link you gave. Do you know a good place to buy the KBC helmets? I tried on the Icon helmets and the padding was really thick in those too (I would have to go up a size), but I haven't really heard anything good about the Icon helmets. From what I've heard the KBC helmets are really nice for the money, and I like the design of the helmet.

Thanks again, I'll keep you guys posted on what I get for sure.

You'll want the padding to be snug when it's new. Of course not too tight but kinda snug or it'll end up being too big in a couple months of use. Just make sure you order it through some place that'll exchange it if it doesn't fit correctly. I wear from a M to an XL depending on what helmet brand it is. There seems to be no correlation between sizes from company to company.

i too have a hjc cl-14 kast as well as a kbc tk-8 fuel and both are the same size. the kbc feels tighter overall and MUCH tighter through the check area, almost to the point of discomfort. there are different check pads available but i would say that both helmets are not the same size. i would go to a dealer and try one on and then order online from the cheapest distributor. just my opinion

Thanks, I thought they would be pretty close to the same size, but they aren't at all. My brother has a L hjc and it fits nice, but too tight in the cheeks. I bite them when I'm riding. It was the same with the Icon helmet that I tried on, but the icon was an xl and it fit like a l hjc. I just have to find someone around here that can get the KBC helmets. I'm going to St Louis on Saturday, leaving from Wisconsin, is there anyplace along the way that I caould check out that you know of? I will just check around and see what I find.

Thanks guys

if you have a cycle gear i would suggest go there. they might not be the best bargin but the deal will be decent in most cases plus the 30 day satisfation policy kicks ass... and if cheeks are the only thing tight on a helmet just get the helmet and see what pads fit....the cg here let me snap in the xxl cheek pads from my kbc force rr into the L and i found out that the L was just a better fit with different pads...even if the cheeks are a lil tight you can always sit at home and do jumping jacks to break those pads in lol.. it took me 3 helmets to get it right but I'm a noob so take it all with a grain of salt but I've had some exp with helmets in the past few mos and look at this way if you end up getting a helmet right for your dome and tight on your cheeks you might have some time to break in the tight cheek pads if the others are on backorder like mine

in short see if they have different sizes in that helmet and see if you can swap pads

I'm going to order the helmet either today or tomorrow. Since they have cheek pads that are different thicknesses, should I take the chance with the XL and get some thinner cheek pads if I need to or should I get the XXL and possibly have to send it back for beng too big? I also tried on an Icon helmet, that was an XL and it fit pretty tight, but really tight in the cheeks. Whenever I would open my mouth I would bite my cheeks. I'm going to order from metricbikesuperstore.com (I think) Does anyone know how they are about returns? Thanks again guys

I say go try on the exact helmet in the size you're thinking about than see if you can swap pads to make a difference

Thats what I'm planning on doing. I was going to order it last night, but it doesn't get released until March. I hope it doesn't get warm enough to ride in the next month or I'll be pissed LOL. Thanks
