I've been riding a 1982 Yamaha Maxim for quite a while and came across a great opportunity to upgrade this winter. A friend of mine bought a 929 for cheap that was forced to do stunts and tumbled across a parking lot at relatively high speed. He sold a few bits and the frame was trashed. The bike still ran and he rode it up and down the road a few times to see how the motor delt with the wreck. Eventually he got lazy and didn't want to try and sell things so I traded him $100 cash and 4 months of storage/air compressor use for his truck for all the things seen below: I then decided since it had brand new tires it would be best to give him another $175 for both wheels: The front is bent up in 3-4 spots so I will probably just buy a new one, but it came with the rotors, calipers, lines, and lever. Lastly here is the damage from the crash: Also a broken off bolt in the front mounting flange. I'll have no problem getting those repaired at a machine shop I use for custom work. I waited all winter to find a frame and finally got one about a week ago on ebay. The guy didn't advertise that it came with a clean title, but responded to my question about it that it did. It is scheduled to arrive this Thursday so I will know for sure then. In the meantime I have a car I promised myself I would sell before buying everything else for the bike, but I will update this thread as things come together. In the meantime, I've been reading a lot of forums trying to gather as much info as I can for the build, so any tips or things to do while it's apart are more than welcome. I'm not into flashy/shiny things and am planning on keeping the bike naked and dark/flat colors, maybe dirtbike bars solely because I like a more upright position and do a lot of miles. I'm not interested in doing stunts, but would like to attend a few lapping days at a track sometime. Edit - Whoops, you guys don't to img tags, I'll get those proper in a minute. (Fixed)

Looks like you got quite a bit of stuff for what you traded. Hope everything goes well for you!
