do not drag knees on public roads, with an exception to the tail of the dragon, which you cannot get through it without dragging, lol

ORIGINAL: Jaybird180 I recall reading Code say to use the inside leg on turn entry and outside post-apex. Seems a bit busy to me. It felt comfortable for me to focus on weighing the inside peg, stick out the knee and then use the puck for support; get hard on the gas and focus on exit point/ next entry....let 'er slide all the way to the outside of the turn- she's driving and stable at this point. use the inside to get the bike down or pointed where you want it, but once in the turn, i'd stay away from weighing the inside or laying on your knee.

Hmmmmm...I'm no pro and I'm not pushing the limits, but pros use the knee to save front end washouts.

Once again, the preview button didn't work... Update: ...finally made it to a track! It will take me a few more track days to figure out what the best positions are for me. I'm very comfortable riding a certain way right now, so trying to incorporate the instructors' suggestions will take time. http://switang.us/TrackTime/Kershaw_05-10-08/Kershaw_05-10-08.html Not the best pics since the corner stations weren't very conducive to good pics. Somewhat repetitive too. P.S. no flags the whole day, everyone talked like that was unusual.

1 cheak off the seat, arms bent, head looking through turn... the rest is personal preference. Don't drag your knee on public roads, that's just asking for a low slide.

Yeah the track was mostly right turns, yet photos mostly left turns, which I'm not as comfortable with. Closer to the mirror, that's what a couple riders said. Get forward on the tank a bit more...got to break the street position.

tits on tank and kiss the mirror...you look very awkward in a few of the pics, but im sure its the stupid angles chosen... on another note, sliders wouldnt hurt...and maybe look into stomp grip or techspec grips...kneedragging =/= fast...fast riders graze the pavement and dont need to murder pucks...

ahhhaha...hey puck...the fastest rider at this one trackday i was at in buttonwillow....had zero marks on his sliders...was on an F4i pulling 112 to WHP...can't remember his name but he's a pilot for fedex...flies a total of 4 months out of the year (so like 120 days)...the rest of the time he travels from track to track on his M3 towing his trailer with F4i in it! ahaah... when our session was over, he would be sitting there prepping his car for trackday at the same track the next day. he was FAST...and smooth...passing all the racers, etc...and since he baller, he paid to run 2 groups...just so he can have more track time... i raced him to the bathroom...he was even faster than me on foot!

lol tahoe you crack me up, but back to viper a good friend told me when i was at the track you wanna almost be kissing ur mirror with ur helmet. idk why but whenever i take it to the track i attempt that and it somehow gets my body to were it needs to be. just keep going and your gonna get it to the point were ur comfortable with it, everyone is different and everyone drops there knees different. best thing thought like tahoe said hang off like a monkey and your gonna be in the right place, its gonna feel wierd as hell but youll know cuz youll be able to take that turn at a higher speed
