1. What is your gas mileage on your 1989 CBR 600F? I fill at about 100miles on the trip-meter 2.5 gallons. Thats about 39 - 40 MPG. Can anyone can share their experience? 2. Is there a way to add a gas gauge? For over 1 year I just keep an eye on the trip-meter, every 100 I pump 2.5 gallons. Today I ran out of gas on the freeway! I was able to coast off and push to gas station right off the exit, but I only had 118 miles on the trip-meter and I pumped 3 gallons. Perhaps I pushed it harder this time around and wasted more gas. Maybe I should have the carbs rebuilt and valves adjusted...???

the tank holds 4.2 gallons. you should be going at least 150 miles before having to get gas. if you use the reserve, should get at least another 25-30 miles. i don't think there is a way to put a float into the tank for a gas guage. i would think that would require cutting open the tank for a in-tank fuel pump.
