Nibb I hear ya on the thieves man. Ain't nothin lower than a bike thief! If somebody stole my Erion, I'd pretty much have to kill them haha! Anyhow back to the VINs. There's VINs all over eBay tho so the points a little moot. In addition to the fact that I already have my OWN genuine Erion 929 with my OWN genuine CBR900RE VIN... I don't have any use for this info other than how many of these bikes were produced. However, I'll repeat for the 10th time... DO NOT POST YOUR WHOLE VIN! *DO POST LAST SIX and MANUFACTURE DATE* (Also make sure there's an SC443 in the VIN or it's probably not an Erion 929) There that should stick out a little better. Now back to the topic. We may not even need the last 6. As speculated earlier, if there were only 2000 genuine factory Erion 929's made, then the last 4 would suffice to prove this. At first I really didn't know much about how VIN numbers were setup, but now it seems that all Erions have the following: JH2SC443*1M10**** The first asterisk is a check digit. That's why I said DON'T post the whole VIN. Nobody will have that check digit except you. The last 4 asterisks are what number yours was off the line. HONDA won't give out this info! Unfortunately, that makes it easy for FAKES to be put out there. It seems that everybody's worried about one issue, when a more important one exists. This info could be beneficial to a prospective buyer. Hopefully everyones on-board with what's trying to be accomplished now. I think there's really some good info here on how VINs are generated. I'll add some more info later. It's finally nice out here so it's time to RIDE!

Wow reading this is wild,...just a funny addition, as I was reading this having just aquired my Erion,..I noticed my last 6 digits of the VIN listed from the information that was gathered on Ebay. I to tried to investigate the vin using ebay last week but came up with the same conclusion that the 443 section is Erion specific editions and the rest means nothing. Have to search DMV's somehow and search how many have that 443 number in them, state by state. No way! Mine has the yellow shock also. That got me scratching my head. So did they come with both colors, or mainly one?????
