ORIGINAL: 1FAST929 i thought it came with a hydro clutch still?obviosly not... It helped bring 1lb off of the front. I was also told that with the lighter springs on the slipper clutch, the hydrolic assisted clutch was no longer necessary.

Very nice!!!!! Awesome choice in color, I have not seen this color in person yet. We just got some in our local dealers this week. Nobody has this color here yet, that I know of atleast. I will be taking back the BS comment now . Hiding in corner

Yeah, as DWShultzy said, they went away from the hydraulic to save weight and move mass to the middle. But the reason they were able to that was because of the positive ramp mechanism in the clutch. Its kind of the reverse of a slipper clutch, where a set of the ramps push the plates together upon regular rotation of the clutch (instead of pulling them apart on reverse rotation due to rear wheel braking). This augments the normal spring pressure. The clutch pull on this bike is REALLY light. Motogp stuff according to Honda. Anyway, it seems to work great.

No worries! Glad you like the color. I dig it. Kinds reminds me of MV Augusta colors.

Someone came to one of our bike nights with that same color on his 08'. I love the color but I am still not a big fan of the way the bike looks. Maybe someday it will grow on me but not yet anyways.

What bike did you ride before?? I only ask because I'd like to know a street rider's opinions on how different the bike rides from previous years. I know its lighter as I've sat on one at the bike show, but I'd like to get as much opinions as I can as it may be my next track bike....

What bike did you ride before? ------------------------------------------- I currently ride a VFR800, a heavily prepped Roadstar Warrior, some dirt bikes, etc. I previously owned two CBR900RRs and rode my buddies 05 R1 quite a bit. Obviously, the bike is far more powerful than the 900RR, and it seems to have a much broader range of power than the R1. But the difference in this motorcycle compared to other open bikes I've ridden is the precision and smoothness. The bike allows you to quickly find and hold a line, high speed or low speed, with very neutral steering and a level of stability I havent seen for a bike this agile. And it is very agile for an open bike. Its been a while (15 years) since I roadraced, but I got this bike specifically to get back on the track for track days. If thats what you are considering the bike for, I doubt you'll be disappointed. It really does seem to be that good based on my limited riding in the twisties so far.
