On my f4i, at a spirited pace, I like to keep the revs between 9000 and 14,000. Keeping it above 9000, from my experience, provides the best drive out of the corners.

In the canyons, i'm ususally between 7000 to 9000, coming out of a turn a good point I aim for is 9000. You red line often theredgoose? I heard that's not good, unless you are running water-wetter coolant but that's for the track. Higher RPM's = hotter running temp

On the race track, I'll run all the way to the rev limiter from time to time. But, I try to shift right before 14K. I do use water wetter in my race bike; I don't see a difference in running temp, though. On my street bike, I occasionally run my bike to the rev limiter but usually run it no more than 12K. The power really comes on around 9K, so I like to keep it there.

Interesting, I usually shift on the street about 11-12K too.

do u guys do that with every gear or what, im new to riding and shift on the highway or streets around 5 or 6k i know its prolly really low but what rps do u cruise in? when im on the highway driving 60-75mph im in 6th gear should i be doing something different? yes im very newb

cruise around 4-6K...shift around there for street too. for canyon, track and rush hour traffic, different story, way up there. Water wetter won't help you run cooler, it will help water conduct and remove heat better though, so your bike won't be running super cool, but once it gets going the temps drop faster.

If I'm cruising around on the street, I'll run the bike around 7K. Cruising on the highway, around 9K. If I'm accelerating on the street, I'll typically run it to no more than 12K in every gear. In the canyons, I don't go below 9K. On the racetrack, I keep the bike running between 9K and 14K; during accelerations, I'll go all the way to 14K, sometimes bouncing off the rev limiter, most of the time. I'll short shift on some parts of the race track if needed to do a fast lap.

Isnt this the same guy that started calling people names when they told him that he was going to kill himself. Im pretty sure he wants to know the powerband range to do wheelies. here ya go buddy. Ive been riding for 4 years and doing stunts for about 3 years. Go get a sprocket kit Go get a helmet, jacket, gloves, pants and boots. get the bike up to about 8 grand and let it go then crank back on it and up it will come, better be good at your balance. Even after 3 years of riding, im not perfect but I can do long wheelies with style anyways. Dont kill yourself and dont do it in traffic, go practice on some back roads or at a small airport when no ones there. Daniel Thompson P.S. make sure you have someone arround you with a truck incase you flip the bike. Dont want to be walking home.

9K is where the power really kicks inand 14250 is where the rev limiter is at. if you're drag racing you wanna shift at like 12750 or 13000 which is where your power starts to come down again (with 12.5k being your peak hp). on the race track, keeping it around 10 will get you good drive and you;ll be able to reach peak power outof a corner and heading into a straight. on the road i tend to stay relativly low 5-8k for gas purposes, but when things get spirited once you get above 9k you'll feel a diffrence in the pull.

hey i dont have any of the new bikes like some here, ive got 93 f-2. like "supersteve911" i ride in the 6000 rpm to 7000 rpm range tack is redlined at 12500rpm is my bike too old to have powerband or am i not going high enough in revs ?????

I owned a 97 f3, and it had pretty good power for my first bike, your probably just not going high enough. Dont quote me on that though.

Mine feels quite spirited from 7k up, I usually shift around 13k too.
