Hey Folks,

I'm 50 something and ride a 02 F4I. 1st bike was a Honda 73 CL350 Scrambler (twin side pipes up high). Awsome bike. I had a few too many one late night, lost it on a 80 deg corner, flipped it between to old locust trees 6' apart and walked away with a lesson learned.  Next was a 71 CB750 bored to 811 w/racing cam. Guy had raced it at Louden (NHIS). I put a 4/1 Kerker and KN. Nice bike and sounded awsome. In 80 I bought my 1st new, 750F $2800 bucs. Rode it until 1999 (dormant in basement now in ex shape.) Found a 94 CBR1000F w/2200 mi, mint. Kids fiance told him it had to go. Best 2 up sport tourer ever made IMHO. Then my wrists started bothering me and I had rode some 600,s (my sons and his friends). The lighter throttle and OA weight was easier on me.
In the 70's we rode for the thrill of accelaration and cornering and there we're very few Harley's clogging the twisties. It's tougher now, around here you have to pic your spots. If anyone wants to ride reasonably lawfully in northern New England this summer drop me a PM.
PS both my sons ride 6's too.
PSS, I have room at my ranch for stay-overs, to save on hotel. Sport/Sport Tourers are always welcome.

Welcome to the forum! (even though I've been here less than a week)

Your first bike is older than I am, and I'm sure you've grown more wise in the past three decades than I have, so I'm not going to preach to you; this is for all the other riders out there. Stupid hurts; don't ever mix drugs or alcohol with bikes, mmmkay? (Glad you made it out ok and continued to ride throughout!)

I don't know if I'll ever make it that far up north, but if I do, We'll be sure to schedule a riding meet up at the least!

E.
