Thinking about getting one as a daily commuter to work and all.  Can't take the repsol.  Draws to much attention and can't stop worrying about it.  But do you think going from a 1000 to put around in a 250 will be a frustrating not worth the deal kinda deal or should it be ok.

Can't really argue about the price $3499.

I was thinking the exact same thing for a commuter bike. They're definitely nice looking. I'd do it. You're definitely going to have to be aware of the limitations of a 250, but the gas savings will be awesome.

The 08 250R is a sweet looking bike and would be good for day to day use if you don't mind being seen on a 250.  The 250 is going to feel like a bycycle compared to you 1K, but as long as you keep in mind that it's just a work bike then you will be ok.  If it was not for the insureance I was thinking about adding one to the fleet as well.  The green is just awesome looking.  I just wish they would have added FI to the 08.

I would definately get an 08 250 as a second bike. I think it is a great looking bike and it gets about 70 mpg! Not to mention that those 250's do a pretty good job of holding thier resale.

I also like the idea of having a warrenty that comes with a new bike.

Go for it!

1.) Brand new bike with warranty and full life on clutch, brakes, etc
2.) Gas mileage
3.) Gas mileage again
4.) Very well done restyling
5.) You don't have to deal with potential problems of an abused bike

Go for it!  It's a sharp bike, even though it is a Kawi   It would probably make for a pretty good cheap track bike too.  Yeah, too bad it's not fuel injected, but I guess for the price for a new one, you can't complain.

Syphen, you'll have to do a review of the bike for us when you pick it up this weekend.

IF i would have gone for a 250 cc, i would've waited for the new Yamaha coming out. Yamaha > Kawasaki under 600 cc.
But honestly i'd never go for a 250, way too small, boring in the end...

Yep-no FI.  Even the 08 ZZR 600 is a carb'd bike.  I would consider a new ZZR 6 if it was FI, but my next bike has to be FI.

It's not the one you ride for excitement. It's the one you ride for the savings. You pull the CBR out on the weekends to go on the twisties.

I think it's a great idea to save money, but I'd hate to be seen on one.  I'm a bit of an attention whore though.

Well i ride my CBR for savings, but i got a pretty old one (CBR600F Hurricane from '87)... Goes for about 12-13 miles per liter and insurance is nothing...
I'd say buy an old CBR over buying a 250 CC, they go down fast quite hard in their prices, and you cant drive 150.000 with a 250 CC, you can with a 600 (from honda or yamaha)
