Hey guys Im not looking to buy but looking to sell I have an 87 hurricane around 46k for miles.  Was just curious what kind of prices I could figure.  Runs good has all plastics just quite a few scrapes and scratches.  Anyways just wondering and also if anyone is intrested .  Thanks in advance.

I would check your local papers and online (such as your craigslist region) to see what similar bikes are going for.
In some areas such as mine, even older bikes seem to keep a pretty good value and you might get $1300 from the right buyer, but in other places where bikes are more plentiful, you may be hard pressed to get $800.
I wish I could be more helpful. Good luck!

No you guys were all more than helpfull thanks a lot.  I just put it up in craigs list and Im waiting to see how it goes.  Put the price for 1k and will probably be willing to take 800 on it.  I live in southern MN so bikes arent rare by any means just not as many around here as in a lot of other areas.  Thanks again for all the input guys and gals.

Bought my CBR600F1 Hurricane 1987 for $600 cash (U.S. Dollars).
44k miles Still running strong, plastics are ok, no lower fairings(Picture below). A basic starter bike, i would put yours at roughly $1200 due to you have time til it gets a bit warmer to ride. Let them talk you down to $1000, so they think they get a deal!

I bought mine for $1800 2 years ago, 10,500 miles on it now, and for the age, I would say it was still 8/10 condition!

Higher mileage will definately lower the price, since bike parts wear faster and you'll be in it more in maintenance.

Oh also here is what he is trying to say :P

His E-mail
The bike is a bid rougher then I was hoping for. The plastics will need replacing and it look like the tires will need to be replaced soon also as well as having it serviced because 46000 miles seems like a bit much for a 87.  I don't think I'd want to pay much more then $500 cash or so.  Are the tags current?  I live over by Sioux Falls.  Is the bike trustworthy enough to ride it back from there?

Besides the one fairing, it is a nice looking bike. I certainly would not sell it for $500!

yea definetly, tell him to go pound sand. or to stop lowballing. And those plastics can definetly be repaired. My right side fairing was completely in two pieces and youd never know it now. Took some time and patience but its good as new. And why in gods name would he buy new plastice for an 87 anyways. Its 21 years old its going to have dings.

Bought mine for $200 CDN with 34k miles. After repairs (engine rebuild + regular maintenence items, nothing cosmetic) it came up to about $900. Yours is definately worth more, if in good running condition.
