K, just need a place to vent out some frustrations lately...I'm working a full-time job that is for a Fortune 500 company under a government contract which expires on April 30th and is in the process of being renewed but not necessarily under the same company and if another company wins the contract they will probably can some of us or cut our paychecks significantly, and even if my company manages to retain the contract there are major organizational changes taking place that will eliminate and re-classify many jobs and nobody is giving us any answers to our concerns.  Yeah, I know it was a run-on sentence.  Anyway, this ****ing compnay has the nerve to force us to get CompTIA Security+ certified out of our own pockets within a certain amount of time without any regard for the future of our employment, and my motivation and morale at work is at an all-time low right now.

On top of that I'm in the middle of 12 credits this semester already and I barely have time as it is, not to mention the fact that I am in the middle of buying my first home.  It really blows because the deal on this home is far too good to pass up, which I would only do if I knew FOR SURE that I would be getting canned, but as it stands now I simply cannot pass up on this deal.  It's really going to blow if this all goes south though, cause I'll be a few payments deep into a mortgage and I'll lose my tuition benefits and will have to start taking student loans to finish my degree.  At least I'll still have the GI Bill I guess.

Oh, and there's a cherry on the top of this shit cake...I'm still in the process of weaving my way through the legal system for a DUI I picked up in December, which I estimate will cost around $4500 and a 60-day license suspension.  That's at least already half payed off, as I am even with my lawyer, just waitin on the fines and class fees.  I guess I'm managing it all significantly well, as I'm 72 credits deep with a 3.97 GPA and I still find the time to take piano lessons and play guitar and work on my bike, but there are bad days like today now and then when the pressure just gets to me a little bit.  The main stress comes from the uncertainty, as I hate losing a sense of control...ironic for somebody who is well aware that control is an illusion, but I embrace the illusion.  At least the uncertainty aspect will go away towards the end of April when the future of my job will be known...everything else I brought upon myself and have it well under control.  So April 30th is the magical date right now that will determine if I'm set for some smooth sailing or if I'm taking a shit-boat adventure on a downward spiral.  ARGH

Anyway, I'm not looking for sympathy or advice here...I AM DESIGNATING THIS THE VENTING THREAD!!!  GET OUT ALL OF YOUR FRUSTRATIONS HERE!!!

You people know how to live at warp speed ... stress is a silent killer ... provided the stress is going to subside then that'll be fine, we are capabale of stress in moderation ... but if your whole basic life style is stress then you have to change it...

Good luck with it all :-)

Jules

Truth be told, I need to stay this busy to have a sense of purpose.  I just don't like having something as important as my job being up in the air without any answers or downward communication.  Beyond that, I don't do anything more than I can handle, and like I said, it's only the odd day here and there that I feel any sort of burden.  Unfortunately, today is one of those days.

I have to vent too.

Chickens.

Chickens today are bred to grow so fast that it is nearly impossible to make a good soup with them. Remember how in the old days, your soup would gel in the fridge and the fat was hard, not the fat is gooey and the gel is sloppy. They don't even taste like chicken anymore.

Un-Vent:

Organic milk.

It tastes like milk from the glass bottle that used to be delived by the milk truck.

Fu*king Colds!!!! Our little 4 month old came down with some runny nose coughing stuff and now she gave it to me and my SO. I went all winter without getting too sick and now that it's spring, I'm blowing my nose every 10min and it feels like these's a c-clamp on my temples...I wanna get away!

Damn, Buss...sorry to hear that your in "that" stage of your life...I have been there, and done all that.  It will get better.  When you get out of school, things just have a way of falling into place.  I do remember those feelings towards the end of my college career, not knowing what is coming up down the road and being stressed...my release now is the gym.  I work from 8-6, then hit the gym on the way home and "work-out" my aggressions, literally.

The job thing sucks, but you seem like a smart enough dude that you'll land on your feet no matter what happens...

...and as an option...I happen to have an open bedroom in my house, so your welcome to it if need be, you'll just have to move to CT and help with the mortgage.

I'm sure things will work out for you the way they did for me when I was your age.

Wind blew the shingles off of my roof. May have to just replace them all. Wish it would warm up so I could.

Rescued a dog on the side of the road last night. Put up fliers with my phone number all around. Dog puked in my car's backseat. All my extension cords have been chewed by animals so I can't hook up the shop vac to clean it up. Pissed. Didn't work out today because I can't leave the dog just anywhere in my house. Ugh. I need to workout. Bad.

Damn icon barrier pants keep ripping seams by the zipper. I paid $80 bucks for these things, they should hold up better.
