I have a 93 600 F2 and i bought it a few months ago and got a good 2 months use out of it. I went to start it and it turns over but it just wont fire, it will backfire every once and a while but thats about it. Any ideas? Checked the timing and its good, cams arent broken either. Thanks guys.

how long has it sat between the last time it started? Its possible you could need new plugs. They are pretty cheap( between $5 and $7)and easy to install. Try that. also make sure your battery is fully charged. If it still doesnt start it could be your carbs need cleaning. these are just suggestions that may or may not solve your problem. Im no certified mechanic, im just trying to help out a fellow rider with the little knowledge I do have. Hope it helps.

Its been a while since it ran, pry 2 or 3 months, my dad seems to think the timing is off, he said he checked one plug because he didnt want to have to go through the hassle of getting at the other ones. Im in college right now so i took the bike home and told dad he could fiddle with it. Ill check the plugs when i go home this weekend, if that isnt it then im taking it into the shop.

If it was running fine before you left it sitting then make sure battery is fully charged. Also check all of the plugs or just change them all. This way you can rule this out and you will only benefit from it. good luck.

I am 100% sure u have a fouled plug. Replace them all and go ride. Then come back and tell me I'm right I've had that problem along with a lot of others.

I agree, sounds exactly like the problem I had with my f2, especially the backfiring

with the accord, check your distributor, make sure it doesn't have a lot of carbon build up, just pull the cap and you can see easily, if that's not it, check to see if the 4th is firing and the plug. If not you need new wires. If it goes beyond that you need your motor rebuilt, because you are not getting any compression to that cylinder. Let me know if any of that helps.

It could be just a loose plug wire too.
