Im planning on getting Yoshimura RS-5 exhaust for my 600, but im not sure if it would be better to save up and get the entire exhaust system or go the cheaper route and get the slip on. Any advise?

Thanks

hey money - i was thinking the same thing since i have my whole bike ripped apart right now but i just dont have the extra funds - i think with a power commander and 150mph down the highway it doesnt really matter - but if you have the extra funds and your bike is like mine right now then i guess f*ck it and go 4 it.

With a full system you're mostly saving a bit of weight vs. the stock system. Power wise, the difference isn't worth the $ you save. The can makes majority of power.

Fully agree! ... Save the money and go with some other mods.

With the full system you're saving weight vs. gaining a lot more power and unless you plan to track the bike the extra $500+ dollars isn't going to be worth it.

However, I do say invest in a PC3 with the slip-on and get a custom tune.

If you go with the full exhaust you HAVE to go with the PCIII, tune, and filter, its like an extra 1500 all said and done. Personally I have the Yosh slip on and the filter, and I love it. Along with a ton of other stuff, I think the best mod I have done so far is the -1/+1 sprockets. Makes a huge difference for like 150 bucks.

So the fluid doesnt over heat and break down and thicken and clog the break lines then the line have not fluid then yougo to hit your breaks and theres nothing working and you have to breaks, to yeah,

so the breakfluid doesnt break down and thicken.

Nick im not sure if you are being facetious, or serious about the brake reservoir thing. I have never heard or that, pretty damn sure its just cosmetic.

Actually, Its big here in FL because the sun willeat up your break fluid in a heart beat, and it kindkeeps it tempered, and its also there in case it spils or comes loose, that way it doesnt go everywhere. Atleast thats what I use mine for.

well......i do own my own shop and know quite a bit of mechanics here and there - giving an educated guess what you said graphix really makes no sense.

if you didnt want the fluid to heat up why would you put a "jacket" on it? a black one @ that??

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>anyway -

sorry for the double post guys but my next thing has direct relation to this thread -

I just bought this yosh slip on (RS5) and with whatever integrated tail light that people buy...hangar, tripage mod or whatever, it seem to really crowd the light - either making it kinda unsafe, crowded looking or otherwise - i was thinking of takin the pipe to a speciality exhaust shop and putting a SLIGHT bend in it to bring it away a bit -

what do you guys think? good call/ bad call?

If you can get the brakets to line up or fabricate something for the extra distance from the "bend"... then I don't see it as being bad... just remember that if they accidently bend it too much, it'll look real dumb... and depending on what part you want to bend, you'll be bending your aftermarket downpipe (since the other part has the cat... I don't think you'll bend that). I don't know if that will scratch the finish on it or what.

Oh... and I'll be sending your light as soon as I get back to Oklahoma. Sorry again for the phone dieing on you during our conversation like that. Please hit me back if you have any more questions (I recharged the phone. )
