i put the PIAA H7s on my ride. way too much voltage for that lil harness. melted it in about a week.

Are you using the regular wattage bulbs? I know that there are differences, and if you exceed the wattage settings from stock specs, you're liable to get melted harnesses. I just purchased a set of regular wattage (maybe 55w?) PIAA bulbs. I have yet to install them, but will post pics in a few months.

the bulbs i was using were 100 watts. it didnt fry the entire harness, just the main plug. the 55w bulbs are not much dif. from the stock bulbs.

i dont know how the h7 is but i have a set of Toyota Is3 HID kit, it doesnt burn out any harness or anything and it worth it! its on my 600 RR and it lights the whole street up with ONLY the low beam, the high beam is a KILLER. i dont have a picture of it right now. everybody that i ride with wants me to retrofit it into there R6, R1, 600 RR and etc.

so i say YAY for the HID!

How is it when it is foggy? I have heard great in good weather, but worse than stock otherwise. Thanks

yo mang...white light shines good and brightens everything up, but as you can see from the pix, there's really no contrast with the asphalt...yellow is best for short distances in front and contrast.

i run 1 phillips foul weather bulb (yellow) and one silverstar...i got the best of both worlds. HIDS are just too bright mang and has no contrast with the asphalt, so although brighter, you can't see details on the aspalt, like bumps, etc.

stick with 55W...or else you'll melt things.
as far as the 170 PIAA bulbs, they are not HID...just HID like bulbs. they just that xenon bulb stuff.
