I had my NEW 2 week old scorpion helmet on my rear peg while i was talking to my buddies and all of a sudden it falls off for not even 2 feet off the ground and made a big chip about 1/4" wide and a inch high... it chipped through the thick layer of paint like a indent no problem and it started to spread... Anyone else have that problem?  An RR sticker covered that up though

i think that all helmets do the same thing. when i bought 2 new helmets (hjc) his and hers, soon as i handed her the helmet she grabbed it by the strap it was hanging by her side and fell from less than 2 feet and the same thing happened a big ol chip and an indent. later on down the road my helmet was on the mirror and fell w/the same result. it realy sucks that you pay so much money for something to protect you and it can't even stand up to a bump. if you read any of the papers that come w/the helmet it will say that if it is droped that you should replace it because the structure has been compromised and may not protect properly. what a joke.
don't worry your not alone there are thousands like you and me..

Once it hits the ground, it's over, done, dead, gone. Time for a new one. Doesn't matter who manufactures it. That's why you never hang it off anything.

That will happen with all helmets.

If you want to get a new one, PM me and I will hook you up.  I know that sucks when something like that happens.

A piece of gravel hit my scorpion sting helmet, broken the plastic slide vent above eyes and chipped the paint to heck!

You're clearly very uninformed.

The helmet is only damaged if there's something inside of it when it hits the ground (your head)!

AND, if your worried about damage, most helmet makes will x-ray the helmet for you and tell you if it's OK for free (and maybe shipping charges).

I have dropped my scorpion helmet twice. The damage was resonable, nothing out of the ordinary (couple small scrapes). I own an exo400 and 700. Overall, I think they are great helmets and I am happy with the quality of thier paint. But I probably wouldn't feel that way if I had a 1" chip in it, so I understand your frustration!

yea the topic of replacing a helmet if it has just been dropped was just debated on here not too long ago and probably not for the first time.  i think most people agreed that just dropping a helmet (without ur head in it, of course) doesnt mean u need a new one since its not the plastic/paint that save u, its the padding inside.  if the padding hasnt been compressed, or comprimised, then it shouldnt need replaced... unless of course u crack the plastic, thats a diff story
