my engine will not run won't even chug when trying to start. the starter just fires.

After I replaced my stator cover, I accidentally pushed the starter motor gear off of its little spindle--so the starter had no chance at all to turn the crank and get things moving. Go ahead, ask me how long it took to figure out what I had done lol. As soon as I put the gear back in place and re-applied the stator cover a little more carefully...bam, fire in the hole.
Hopefully your situation might be this simple...

I had the exact same thing happen to me when i replaced my stator cover, i put it back together hit the switch and heard the starter spinning but the engine wasnt turning over, i was like crap what did i do wrong here. took me about a day and a half before i figured it out, pulled it off, put everything back the way it should be, then put it all back on and she fired right up.

Looks really nice. If you want to eliminate that gap on the rear seat route the strap over the seat mount. So it goes bolt, strap, mount, seat. It makes it sit more flush to the fairing.
