I don't know why I hadn't thought of it before, but have you considered...

I would imagine they would help if you like the mirrors you have now?

I'm with ya to the end Kid, i got yer back. I can see just fine with my stockers @ 6' 2" 200lbs. My buddy put some extenders (base plates) on his sv1000 last year, really liked them to see better, fine idea.

It's not a huge problem but I have to move around and I have mine as far as I can. The only time I can see is when I'm ridining with just a t-shirt.  It a good reminder for me to look over to my side before a switch lanes anyway.

I'm the same as everyone else when it comes to getting out of the way.  I'm pretty big though (6'5", 255).  However, like Evan said, it just gives me a reminder to do a visual over my shoulder.  It even helped me to get in the habit of doing it in my car!!

I like the extender idea, never run across them before.  Probably because I never worried about it and just got used to it until it was posted.   It isn't so much my shoulders as I'm tall but my sides.  Like the others with a t-shirt I can just tuck my elbows, but with a jacket its the tuck and bend.  Always look over my shoulder to switch lanes or what not, but always watchin the jackass behind me on the cell....who's selling the extenders?

Hey John, is that avatar a picture from Brooklyn or Astoria overlooking Manhattan?

That would be completely weird if it is but from all the Google Earth images I've been looking at kind of lead me to believe that might be where you are...  Pic is missing something that should be there, too, me thinks.

that is from Astoria park, directly under the tribourugh bridge..(shore blvd) The background is the upper east side of manhatten,
the empire state building and the ever so missed WTC would be south of that (the camera angle is faceing NW)

Heres a different angle (me in the yellow jacket) triborugh br. above me facing Wards island park

Heres the full size of my Avatar (notice there all Honda)

ok so I'm guessing that everyone is running stock mirrors, no mirrors or stock mirrors with extenders. or mirror block off's?

one of the reasons I started this post is that on my yzf600r a lot of people put the older gsxr 1000 mirrors on their bikes because they are longer and solves that I can't see around myself problem.

I've always wanted to put on some aftermarket mirrors, but can't find any that will work as well as the stockers.  I'm 5'10", 235lbs, built like a linebacker.  My shoulders are huge, so I pull in my elbows a little as well...

Being broad makes it a bitch when trying to find gear.  From my waist down, I can probably fit into a 44 or 46 leather suit, but I have to get 50 or 52 because of my wide shoulders.  With regards to the mirrors, I always did like the look of the Pig Spotters, but I hear you have to move and drill into the plastic.  I'm not that good at stuff like that...
