i Replaced my clutch recently, and after putting it all back together the only way I can make it feel right is with the cluch adjuster fully extended?? what gives?? Brand new steels, frictions, and springs. I have not put oil in it yet, because I think I have to go back in there and change something. I torqued the clutch spring bolts to 9 lbs. honda spec. but i 'm wondering since it was an EBC after market clutch, if less torque on those bolts would give me more cable at the adjuster. I've ordered a new clutch cable just in case mine is stretched, but my gut tells me that isn't going to fix anything, it was working fine I thought?? Any thoughts will help!!

sounds like the clutch basket is all worn out. i had the same problem with my 900rr. i put a new clutch kit in it and the cable was the same way then the clutch wore out after 2 months. i replased the the 2 parts the fricton plates ride on and it was fine.

did you adjust both adjustment points on the cable or just the one at the clip on and did you notice any groves on the tabs on your clutch basket

yes, fully adjusted at both points. My old clutch basket was in bad shape, it did have the dents you were asking about, so I replaced it with a used one from a local salvage yard, and it looked great?? WTF? Even without oil in the system, I should have good cluth feel mechanicaly right? Any one think it might be the pressure plate??
