Whats everyones opinion on Arias Visor system? im on the brink of getting a Quantum II Twisted Red for an awesome price, and have been reading some reviews etc, of course there will always be bad reviews that will never change
Is Arai the only manufacture with this visor replacment system (ear flaps) i hear both its great tool free replacment, to its terrible?  Also with there 3 differnet sizes round oval etc, i dont really have a "round oval" head shape should i be concerned getting the Quantum II?
thx
comments?

I cant believe no one has replied to this yet, hopefully its not too late to provide you some feedback.

1) I ablsolutely love the arai helmets.  I have had the Quantum II, and my buddy currently has the QII twisted.  great helmet.  I currently have the low budget Vector helmet, good helmet, but not nearly as nice as the QII. (needed a new helmet was low on cash as I needed a new bike too)

2)the shield changing is not really that big of a deal, I change it out on the side of the road all the time in about 30 seconds.  although the first couple of times I did it, it did take me forever and I was afraid of breaking the side cover.

3)even if you do break the side cover, call Arai customer service, they will send you another one free!

4) as for the roundness of you noggin, I dont know what to tell you. You need to go and try them on.  thats why I never buy helmets online.  I really liked the way the QII fit my head, until I tried on the vector.  even though the QII is a nicer helmet, the vector just felt much better for my head shape.  although some people say I'm a dickhead, so maybe thats part of it.

I just bought an Arai Astro and have fiddled about with the visor, I assume there is a knack to it which I am still to master. Its not great to be honest. For simplicity I would fall back on my Shoei, its great no fuss on / off plenty of choices of aftermarket visors too. I have a narrowish shaped head but the fit is good although the Arai is noisier than my previous Shoei Raid 2 and my AGV but it is lighter. Ahh decisions decisions and the only way to eally tell is get one and blast up the freeway / motorway or decent A road at 140 odd and see for yourself but the miserable retailers wont let you will they.

There's a video on Sport Bike Track Gear that shows you how to replace the visor.

Try to remember that not only does the Arai system look better, I'm pretty sure it has better aerodynamics.

Hey,
I have a rx-7 and love it. THe visor change is not bad, but I echo the fear of breaking it the first couple of times.

Quantum II, great helmet, definately takes a bit of practice to learn how to switch visors. Now it's no big deal.

Love my profile... If you get one, just sit down with the helmet and practice changing the visor a few times. It's quick once you get the hang of it.
