I put new sprockets and a chain on a couple of years ago. Now, my rear sprocket is shot, but the chain and front sprocket are fine. I need the new one, but am unsure as to whether or not I bought the 525, or the 520 conv. At that point in my riding I had no idea there was even a difference. Is there any way to know what size chain I am running?

there should be a designation on either the chain and/or rear sprocket....will have 525 or 520 somewhere on it....

i would suggest though that if you change out the rear to do everything....the last thing you need is to put on a new sprocket and have it torn up because they don't mesh well with the "partially used" front and chain.....
