I just got an 01 f4i about a month ago. This is my first bike, and I have not had any problems learning on it. Other than a slightly sloppy clutch, which was easily fixed. I haven't noticed the bike to be top heavy, or hard to ride at all.

i have a 06 f4i and a 00 929 rr with almost 30k and i wouldnt ride anything but a honda there reliable as hell

i learned how to ride on my f4i. i'd go with the f4i because of fuel injection. the 02 r6's still had carbs.

i would go with the honda becaasue yamaha's blow my cornhole...and i learned how to ride on my 06 f4i and lemme tell you i had to issues at all learning just dont start gettin cocky on it a month after tyou get it

f4ez, i second that haha i just got my 02 f4i two months ago. and im already comfortable with it ,prlly isnt a good thing cuz i hate to get to comfortable being my first bike i dont want anything bad to happen. but anyhow my f4i was the first street bike i have had and i had no problems learning, no problems with the bike either. great bikes! good luck with your choice. and besides how can you turn something this sexy down come on?

dude you want the f4i because it is fuel injected and the yamaha isnt........both around 100 horse power but the styling of the honda far exceeds the yammy.....plus the air intakes on the f4 are awesome and the honda has a better resale value....i was looking at the yam for my first bike but after review chose the honda....built like a tank ,,,,dude they just dont bresk....goodluck
