Chopping it in half is the easy part... Because of a dent in mine, I had to chop off the front part of the can, and salvage the tail end. Because the tubular walls for the baffling are conical in the front, I had to pull that out, chop it, kinda invert it lol, (impossible to explain) weld it back together... and then put it back together after shortening the inner baffling wall by half an inch to slip into the grooves of the cap. If anyone understood what I just said, you should totally get a gold star for the day. All in all at a good metal shop with a few decent tools it took like an hour to do. I imagine that cutting lenght off of the rear would be easier as the cone part would probably be the same size from there to the end. So re-assembly would be cake.
