Ok.

Here is the tester.

Here are the connectors I am testing (I am testing the black one only):

Here is how I am connecting the prongs to the battery:

Here is the reading I am getting:

On this last picture, depending on how you read it, I could be looking at 12V...if I base it off of the 0, 10, 20 ... scale dead center.

(jesus the bike is dirty...its been sitting in a garage for a year under a tarp.)

ok. so from what I see... when you tested things you had in at DC 50V, and you were reading the top range. You actually need to reading the 0-50 range where it says v ma. So it was at 12V. So you did it right, just read the wrong numbers, that works, those meters are confusing.

Ok, so do the same thing you did for the black plug with the white one, gimme the 'chart' you did again, and I'll start translating and we'll get crackin at this.

ok, trying to translate.... lemme ask....

when you say (-@12V) does that mean you had the black lead on the negative side of the battery, or the black lead on the positive side of the battery? Or does it mean you had the red lead on the positive side of the battery?

I ask because a lot of things are coming out backwards, and some arent.

Sorry, trying to make this as easy as possible.  :(

-@12V = I had the Red Lead on the positive side of the battery and tested with the Black (-) Lead.

Only the one connector did I get a reading with the Red Lead.

ok I'm gonna copy and poaste this all together for reference, and ask you to check something else....

ORNG(-@12V)         TEAL/RED(-@12V)         GRN(-@12V)

GRN/WHT(-@12V)    GRN/BLK(-@12V)          BLU/RED(-@11V)

LT BLU(-@12V)       BRO/BLK(-@12V)           WHT(+@10V)  <---only when HI-BEAMS activated

-----------

BRN/BLK         BRO/BLK         RED/GRN

EMPTY          WHT/BLU         PNK/GRN(+@30)

GRN(+@30)             EMPTY         YLW/GRN(+@30)

Next I wedged the RED prong into the battery terminal and tested with the BLACK prong.  Heres my readouts:

BRN/BLK(-@30)         BRO/BLK(-@30)         RED/GRN(-@30)

EMPTY          WHT/BLU         PNK/GRN

GRN              EMPTY           YLW/GRN

The only wire that had no response was the WHT/BLU wire.

--------------

Double check all your brown/black wires....

There should be one wire thats black with a brown stripe, and one thats brown with a black stripe. I'll have more to check in a few, maybe...

ok, at this point, you need to figure out the brown black situation. Tell me what wires, colors, how many, and what voltage reading.

There should also be a Brown wire with a white stripe, thats an important one.

Also, check your green (green only, no stripes) wires again. Tell me how many, and what readings.

ok, the next check list, then its bed time.

Forget what I said about a Brown/White wire... thats on the gauge side, no need to deal with it right now.

There are 2 Black wires with brown stripes, and 1 Brown wire with Black stripe. Find these and check the voltages, then report back.

There is 1 Green only wire (white plug probably), and 1 Green wire with Blue stripe (black plug probably). Find these wires, get voltage, report back.

Make sure your in good lighting, its hard to see these color combos just right.

We are getting closer.

This is much easier to do in Daylight.

(Black Connector, tested with the Red Lead connected to the battery, and the Black Lead on the connector)
Black Wire w/Brown Stripe:  12V
Black Wire w/Brown Stripe:  12V

Green Wire (Solid):  12V

(White Connector, tested with the Red Lead connected to the battery, and the Black Lead on the connector)
Green wire w/Blue Stripe:  11.5V

im at work right now. when i get out we'll continue. your blk/brn wires should be 12v with black lead grounded and probing with red lead.

you said you checked your fuses. are there 6 or only 4? pull them all and double check for burned fuses. they should be red 10 amp fuses.

talk again in a few hours.
