What are some methods of keeping your tires black? Even after I wash my bike, they still have a brown color to them. I know not to use tire shine, but is there a similar product that has the same effect without the side effect?

Dont worry about shiny black tires.  There isnt anything you can use that will not create a bad situation.

Although if you scrub in your tires good enough it will get down to the darker black rubber thus eliminating the brown tint you speak of.  And you will look like you are a good rider by not having any chicken strips.

Just keep your rim shiny and clean but leave your tire to do its work.

Wesleys Bleche White. Its a cleaner, not a dressing, and it doesnt leave a film. Simply spray it on, wash it off. If theyre real nasty, you may want to brush them lightly. Its really effective stuff.
