I used too have fun stunting my older GSXR 600 SRAD over ten years ago... now I have acquired an 1000RR 07 , what a great bike. Shes in the garage..where both the girls sleep.. but now in time the years have been better on the gsxr than I..  lol Ive gain a fair bit of weight, thats right im a fatboy.. no I dont own another bike   but atm im on a challenge too loose weight..

Ive manage too power wheelie the 1000RR serveral times , but tooo me it just seems alittle more difficult then what I remembered on the GSXR even though I was clutching her...   I tried too clutch it up on the 1000RR but gave up I kept wheel spinning the rear.. lol I'll stick with the power wheelie..

Anyways too my question...below...

Because im alot heavier these days than what I was 10 years ago.. would my weight be a contributing factor of easement of getting the front lifted..  ?

I must admit im rusty, havent have wheelied as much over the past years...

Trying to loose weight get on a strength training program to build muscle that burns fat and DIET DIET DIET is most important when trying to cut fat off.

forum.bodybuilding.com should help with weightloss

And enjoy the bike!

I only have an 600rr and the same thing was happening to me with the rear tired spin.  Just take some air out rear tire down to about 28 pounds that helped me out alot.  I'm only6ft and 175 pounds but try to slid back on the seat.  Hope this helps.

well a 1krr should be no problem to get up in the air (weight is not an issue from what i hear) you just need to scoot back a bit more in the seat so the weight is more on the rear. also warm up the tires a bit (maybe there is too much PSI in them) are they stocks also? if so, you can upgrade the tires or drop the PSI a bit to get more traction.

actually weight helps pop wheelies if it's closer to the rear. (just common sense, if you put more weight on something and try to move it - it's harder for it to slip) i'm no pro, but you should be good.. we also got a guy in town that slips the clutch on a 01 or 02 1Krr and he weighs about 310lbs.

Yeah mate my 1000RR is all stock atm, running corsa's.. but your right I prolly should lower the psi..  yeah well im about 278lbs, so im guessing he can do it.. I should be able to do it with the clutch.. I'll move back abit more with abit of weight transfer...  LOL just nice too have a bike that I can power wheelie.. lol had bluckleys chance of doing it on the GIXXER.. clutched her all the way..

i just dont understand how you can't clutch it and your tire slips but if you power wheelie, it doesnt... my rear slips more from power wheelies then clutching it. (i weigh 142lbs, so im a featherweight - but i do have aftermarket tires that are about 30% more stickyer then stocks)

well good luck at getting her up..

I would guess if your spinning, in your rustyness you are leaning forward and dont realize it, maybe even a bit paranoid of the 1k not wanting to overdo it. Sit back, relax, clutch her a bit and see what happens.

2nd nature comes back faster the 2nd time around (i was off a bike for 2 years, then got the 06 1krr) and was like "OMG, i forgot how to ride" (at the stealership) but once i pulled in that clutch and put it into gear, it just all came back to me slowly - so give it time.

I also lean froward alot myself, but because of my weight - it's rarely effects the outcome.. just another habit you need to drop sooner or later
