Lots of questions:
  • What is the best way to go to film stunts?  (I'll be filming both parking lot and street.  I know with a camcorder i can only film parking lot stunts.)
  • If I'm alone in the lot is it possible to film myself w/ a camcorder (tripod)? helmet cam?
  • Does a helmet cam take good quality video?  Is it heavy?
  • How long can a helmet cam record? (im assuming it records to a hard drive)

I really know nothing about cameras but really want to film myself in order to learn faster.  Any info you have is appriciated!

When watching a stunt video I prefer to view it in third person via way of camcorder rather than first person first of if you pull a 12 o'clock wheelie with a helmet cam all I'm going to see is a clear blue sky also it is much easier to view material while making your video. You simply put your kick stand down walk over to the camerea man and review what you just did. Every once in a while you can throw in a Helmet cam but stick with the camcorder.
