I'm looking to get my first suit so I can have some real bike leather to ride in instead of jeans and a thick leather jacket. I'm contemplating whether to get a closeout Teknic Chicane, which seems to be considered a good entry-level suit, a used mid/high-range suit from a forum (harder to exchange for sizing...), or blow a little over a weeks pay for a new Gericke Celtic suit (with a job that pays well but I don't know if I'll still have it in a few weeks). And then, I'm not sure whether to spend the extra $150 on a 2008 model, with the new armor and modifications. That new back protector looks like some smexy technology. I'm 5'10, 210...ish... but I should be more like 180 given the rest of my sizes. Which are 31 inseam 42 chest 33 sleeve 37 waist So I wonder what size I should try first, since there's no dealers with suits in stock as far as I can tell (at least not for Teknic).

i have the teknic suit, and like it a lot. unless you plan to do some serious track days, or race. it is a good suit for the money. fits well on me but i am short. 5'8" and it fits me OK in length if a bit long by 1/4 inch in the arms and 1-2 inches in the legs. i picked up my suit for 299 plus shipping new. i got it from www.motorcyclecloseouts.com i have ordered a lot from them good place. check www.sportbiketrackgear.com for the Celtic suit. they had them at the bike show this winter nice suits, i was gonna get one but figure this chicane is good for street riding. and if i decide to do a track day this year?

I don't want something with cheap armor or that will need to be repaired from a minor off... I plan to ride primarily on the track once the bike is track ready.

I'm thinking you're a size 56EUR/46US or a 54/44. What is your range that you plan to spend and I'll try to recommend a good suit for you.

then save up another 200 bucks and buy the celtic. my 2 cents. or buy one of the better teknic suits like the violator or speedstar. new enough also has some a-star suits on close out for 600- 900 that are good track suits.

Hey if your looking for a suit check out www.motoneko.com, but give them a call and ask if they have any deals they can cut you. They had the Astars Octane 1 piece listed for $698, but I ended up getting it for $550 shipped. The guy's name that I spoke to was Shree. They're were way helpful and the shipping was free. It took about a week for it to come in. They're on the east coast and I'm in northern california so kidda expected it to take some time to arrive. Also I think FFCBRf4i is on point with the size. My build is almost identical to you and i went with a 44. The suit fits pretty good everywhere but my legs, I got tree stumps. I also tried on a shift suit last week and it is a bit bigger in the ass and legs for the same size suit. Just remeber that the leather will stretch so if it's kinda loose, it's only going to get looser.
