You'll probably look at me like I'm crazy when I say this but is there any way to get a running 600cc sport bike for about $1000?  Unfortunetly I'm quite poor and it has taken me about 6months to get that much!  I drive an F-150 that is a cool truck but I'm spending just about all my money on gas for that.  I live in Michigan about 45min. from Detroit and if anyone could help me out that would be awesome.  Just email me at revolt_racer@yahoo.com if you know anyone wanting to get rid of any kind of sportbike.  If you have an older 600cc lying around and you can help out a college kid who needs to save on gas than I'd really appreciate it!  I'm going to post this in the classifieds too but I figured it would get more views here.

You could get a running 87-90 Hurricane for that money OR a very cheap Hurricane that needs a few repairs here and there, if you're mechanically inclined and are ready to invest some time into it.

I bought mine (88) for $200 and rebuilt the engine plus a few other minor fixes left and right for another $600, tools included. In the end, it cost me next to nothing, bike runs like a charm and I know it inside out.

I would check this bike out. See if it sells. I have some beat up side pieces for it

The big thing in MI that I do is get one without a title that someone will right up a bill of sale for (forms on SOS website) If they sign it and fill it out you run it to check it's not stolen (do this before you buy it just ask for the vin#) if it's clean you get a title in about a week. Getting a title in michigan is easy! . I had an f3 that I sold in pieces. Look in parts bikes on ebay or craigslist. If you are good with a wrench get one that could use some work. or say f it and get a moped
