^^^Sounds like they're assuming your timing is off... ?  If you're mechanically inclined it's not a difficult job but very tedious - you'll need a manual.  I sure as fvck wouldn't pay someone to do it...

Rainman, F3's are notorious for OEM cam chain tensioner failure.  It is best described as, "a single marble bouncing around the top-end."  If it was left it could certainly jump timing and cause all sorts of problems internally and ultimately cause leaks.

However I'm hesitant to tell someone what a sound is without hearing it, I would rather the person tell me what they hear and where it's coming from - I've heard a CCT failure described in a ton of different ways and you can still tell when people are talking about it even though they may have completely different descriptions.

if my bike is leaking oil....bad, does that mean that it might be more then just the cct since its obviously been a problem for a while?
also how much should it cost to fix myself?  because i have seen them online for about $50, and the shop is asking $1,200.

seems like that is to far of a price change.  maybe im missing something, im not sure.

thanks for any help.

Thanks for the replies although I have one more question. If its coming from the CCT or clutch shouldn't it be constant. The noise I heaard comes and goes.
