I wanted to take some pics of her ... just down the path a bit .. I got the mileage one taken then took her off the stand ...

OMG!! it was suddenly like I was holding up a ten tonne lorry ... she started to go and my legs just buckled .. I managed to fling myself underneath and save the tank and rear seat cowl but it did sustain damage ... I was pinned underneath and needed help to get the bike off me so a wee bit bruised here too ... it could have been worse, it's just so so annoying when she was perfect previoulsy ...

Jules

Cracked just below indicator on top half of fairing ...

Previously perfect exhaust now scatched to bits .. ERRR!!!! ...

An array of scratches on the fairing lower bulge ...

Oh no! That baby has been so pampered, well at least it wasn't draging down the road. Looks like some epoxy for the crack and spot bondo for the lower scraches. You can probably just build up paint on the can and no one will notice, dosen't look like it got dented at all. I have my fingers crossed that you can find matching touch up paint. Sorry to hear Jules.

Hope you didn't get hurt at all.  About the exhaust, it's an easy fix.  You'll need to wet sand the scratched area until a majority of scratches are gone.  Since the pipe is aluminum, it's easy to sand and take out a majority of the scratches.  Start with a rough grit like 800 and then move to 1200.  You be able to remove all the scratches with exception for the deep ones but once you repaint it, you'll never see them.

It's funny we sacrifice our bodies to save our bikes and it still gets f'd up and we walk away with a limp. That sucks

I think I would have damaged the tank and seat cowl because it's rocky where it fell Carl ... so I guess I kinda saved it a bit, pulled my back and hurt my legs though ...

Pete *sowwy* ..I guess I hadn't realised I only have the strength of a half starved ant ...sigh

Believe me I have been suitably chastised ..lol

I gotta say I'm honestly sorry, that's too bad.  Never good to hear of a bike with the rubber up.

At least you did not go down while riding.  I thought you had to stay off the bike for like 6 more weeks?  Well it can be fixed so cheer up!  It does suck to mess up something that is nice.

I had my bike fall off a stand before. I just stood there in shock as it slowly tipped off the stand and slammed down on it's side. I was furious - I wanted to tear my own head off and kick it across the garage. It's the only time anything but the tires have touched the ground. After a minute of yelling every obscenity I've ever heard, I litterally almost puked I was so upset.

I feel your pain. Best of luck with the repairs... and the bruises.
