I was told the samething too and my results are same as yours.

TENNBANSHEE -> RE: Raw power (5/6/2008 10:32:41 AM)

run second gear up to 6K or so then snap the throttle open and it WILL stand up.  That is on factory gearing.

KidCr3nshaw -> RE: Raw power (5/6/2008 11:10:58 AM)

Man, at the risk of sounding like a dick...

If you can't get it up from a power wheelie in 2nd, my guess is you're not fully aware of the power range on your bike and when to expect it and how to get it.  To me that says you shouldn't be doing wheelies.

Dude I can power wheelie in 2nd on the F3 - if that was something I wanted to do.  I'm a clutch guy, through and through.

Apart from having a fvcked up bike, the onyl problem I can see is you.  Again, I'm not trying to be a dick but it seems as if the wheelie-question season is upon us and I see a lot of bad habits/practice/and advice being given.

Let's put it this way - if you're taking the time to write on a forum to ask a question about your bike and how it wheelies, you shouldn't be doing them.  I would recommend logging out, finding an empty parking lot and learn it.  Nothing anyone can tell you will make you hear the RPM's and feel the power range any better than if you were to go out and figure it out yourself.  Other than that find some people that know what they're doing and watch them.  Listen.

Whatever you do, be carefull man.  [:D]

good advice.  no one wants to hear about you loopin' it and then asking for a tail section.  Be careful and listen to what the bike is telling you and soon you will not think, you will do.

ommmmmmmannnn i can wheelie that is not a problem! just to prove it to u that i can wheelie in the higher get watch the videso on the right side of my profile...(the red 954) and no...the bike does not want to go up in 2nd powering it up...... maybe when i bounced yes but just hard acceleration anywhere from 5000 to 10000 nothing will happen!!! it will only go up couple inches...

Stunter,
Sounds like someone has struck an emotional chord.  The general concensus is that your bike SHOULD be able to pull the front end in second with no clutch.  It sounds as if you are confident is your riding skills, so it appears that you have a bike issue.  Period.  Do not read too much into it.  No one is out to personally insult you, they are merely trying to address the topic that you freely posted.  More often than not, the issue can be linked back to the rider.  It appears that is not the case with you.  Now it is time to test your wrenching skills.  Cheers[:)]

pimpncbr954s -> RE: Raw power (5/6/2008 3:56:50 PM)

Hey stunter, it can be done but unlike all of the other critics....... ill explain to you how i did them before the lower and stretch........ in 2nd at about 4-5k i open the throttle wide open till about 6-8 where the rear suspension dips and the front end raises, then let go of the throttle to where the suspension does the exact opposite (rear raises, front end dips) followed by snap of the throttle. Doin it like this worked FOR ME because the front end would dip then as it came back up to normal "settings" i would just assist it to get off the ground. Im a or i was a clutch type of guy because power wheelies put you high into the rpms and once you get to "balance point" your doing 100+ mph. Didnt bother to much powering in 3rd again you will be goin to fast in my personal oppinion. Hope this helps.

stunter411 -> RE: Raw power (5/6/2008 4:23:25 PM)

tennbanshee and pompncbr 954's are more civilized then others he he he, streight to the point and not wondering around the question....thats what i like....like i said no probliem clutching it as u saw on the videos...just for the hell of it i wanted to try since ppl have been teling me that is possible...and other thing like i said i can probably get it up if i bounce it and then snap on the throttle MAYBE... and yea ppl piss me off they dont even know how to do shit and they are telling me what to do...the **** with that[:o] and how do u delete threads bc i have a feeling more and more retarded ppl are going to keep teling how not to power wheelie? and keep pissing me even more....

KidCr3nshaw -> RE: Raw power (5/6/2008 7:48:10 PM)

So wait a minute wait a minute....

Are you saying you're just trying to, "roll-on" wheelie?  As in, just crack the throttle back from a roll?  If so, then no, it prolly won't just come up.  That's also not technically a power wheelie so...

But if I'm completely mistaken, then I also have to say that I'm a bit confused at your whole tirade...

Let me make myself more clear.  You appear to have plenty of knoweldge of riding bikes so... why again are you here?  With the knowledge you claim to have you should certainly know that any liter bike that I can ever think of would power wheelie in second gear.  Probably most Harleys even.  My guess is also that you know damn well your bike should power wheelie in second, so you're basically asking troubleshooting questions... only you have no descriptions of symptoms... only that you can't get your 9 of it's ass...

So I ask again, why are you here?

The only reason I'm being a dick is because it's obvious no one was being malicious.  You haven't been with us for a whole riding season so pardon us if we're not sure what your intentions are...

I clearly said at the very end of my post that I just wanted you guys to be carefull.

RPM_RIPPA -> RE: Raw power (5/6/2008 7:48:55 PM)

       Well, I would have to say that I personally can power my bike up in 1st and 2nd without the dip technique.  But I also have gone -1 on my front sprocket.  I still believe it is very possible to do so without a great deal of effort.

TK954RR -> RE: Raw power (5/6/2008 7:50:02 PM)

Now my definition of a wheelie is bringing it up to balance point. All i am going to say refers to sitting down, NOT standing. 2nd gear with a bounce or a snap will power up and wheelie, on just straight acceleration i dont think it will make it (to bp) or it will be wound out if you do. 3rd gear i dunno, i am sure if i really tried i could get the wheel off the ground with enough preload, but just straight acceleration personally i dont think so.

KidCr3nshaw -> RE: Raw power (5/6/2008 7:53:48 PM)

I will say my first response to you was along the lines of me treating you as a newb (didn't know any different about you), and apparently you're not.  I give you credit for that and offer my apologies but still...

I was only trying make you think!
