I'm 5'1, 115 lbs and I'm upgrading from the Ninja 250 and was looking for something with a low seat height and something that wasn't to heavy. I'm considering an 2002 CBRF4i with 5000 miles for $2,750. I wanted to know if this is a good price as I don't think anyone really goes by the kbb. Secondly I need to lower the bike, can someone tell me the best way to do this, shocks, lowering links or whatever. I'm not interested in shaving the seat. Whats the most that this bike can be dropped? Also a question that has nothing to do with the topic but I noticed some CBRF4i have a different seat, one is more of the crotch rocket style seat and the other is just one whole seat. I thought the one seat was the F4i but I saw some other F4i with the one seat. Can anyone explain? Does ths 02 model have one seat or is it 2?

01-03 have the "split-seat" or crotch rocket, assuming that bike is in good order thats a STEAL i just paid 4200 from private owner for an 02 with 8k miles and thats about an average price. Try to avoid dropping the bike, I heard it negatively affects handling. Sounds like your a chick, whats your inseam length (no pedo)

Yeah thats a really good price, just make sure to go over everything before you buy it. Its not really that its a tall seat hight its just a wide bike. If you can avoid dropping the bike do that but unless your a fairly aggressive street rider I dont think lowering it will affect you that much.

Yea thats a good deal if the seller is not Bluffing its a STEAL!!! You would defenitlly need to lower it cause im like 5'9 and I dont even set my foot flat on the ground. And you would have to cut youre kick stand once you lower it. There is different Links on were how to lower youre bike in here search it.

I'm pretty sure the guy is serious, I'm usually good about shopping around for good deals. Plus I go Michigan State and there is always someone giving their stuff away pretty much to pay tuition or rent. But if he is playing around oh well. It has a few scratches, but nothing major. Guess I'll check it out and buy it if its in good condition. I'll post pics if I get it.

Thats what I'm told. So what are the best lowering links for this bike. Vortex, Billet? I thought the seat height was 31.9 in on this and 6'0 people can't flat foot this so how am I going to be able to ride this thing. I'm a little worried now.

wear those really tall clunky heals lol

Ive seen people <5'5 handle F4is somewhat with ease, i think lowering it to your comfort zone is possible, but i would see how much of a reach it is now, when you go see the bike up close.

I have a 2000 F4 and when I bought it (used) it was already lowered.  I am only 5'4" and have no problem with it.  I have about 55lbs on you so that helps me.  Just get a lowering link and then lower the front end also.  I have had no problems with handling with it lowered.

as stated before, you can't really go by just the seat height. The F4i is a fairly wide bike. I'm about 5'7" or 5'8" and I'm close to setting both feet on the ground but not quite. However on my buddies new gsx-r 750 i can sit on it with flat feet on the ground and knees bent...it's that much narrower.

make sense?

I think at 5'1" it will be tough no matter what you do, plus you don't weigh enough to really compress the suspension. I think you need a skinny shorter bike, not sure if a SV650 can be dropped that much either.

Good luck with the search.

I see, well I'll sit on it when I go take a look at it and see how far I am from the ground. If I'm to far from the ground I'll pass. This sucks I reallly wanted this bike and my height may be an issue, and the width of the bike of course. Maybe a GSXR would be a better choice? I only want a sportbike
