Allright guys, i need your help. After my bike was ran over by my roomate, i parked it. This was in September. I've been slowly ordering the parts i need (as well as a bunch of aftermarket upgrades), and i'm finally getting to the point where i should have it done in about 3 weeks. However, i did not drain the extra fuel out of the tank (totally forgot about it). The bike has been parked in my living room, so it hasnt' been subjected to the extreme temps, but i know the shelf life of gasoline these days is pretty shitty. What's the best thing to do for my bike when i get ready to start it up again? Is it too late for fuel stabilizer? ANY IDEAS?

just drain the fuel and dispose of it properly if you think it's bad.

i agree. dont try to start it. this will only feed the fermented (sorry, don't know the propper term) gas from to tank into the engine and gunk stuff up. feel with fresh gas and enjoy riding again. and borrow a monster truck. why? to run over your roommates jeep. show him how it feels! or if that is too harsh, poor the bad gas into the gas tank of his/her jeep and let them deal with it.

if it's fermented like 929 says...DRINK IT! hahhahhah...

if you want to do it properly remove the tank, dump out all the gas and then clean it...with like brake cleaner or something to make sure everything is out...but that is overkill.

I did the same thing and i just siphoned (dont know how to spell) The gas out and put 92 or 93 octane in it and started her right up. Nothing went wrong with it but like Tahoe said, just take the tank off and clean it. I dont think it would matter if you just cleaned it with some good gas either. Just as long as it looks clean.
