I own and drive a DSM aswell and I'll let you know it is true.  I know of those mods on the car and that thing would kill the CBR 600 (Sorry to disapoint).

i think that linx is alittle bit of bs... I ride an eairly cbr... its a 1993 Cbr600 F2... guys its not hte fastest bike.. but i dont even waste my time on half of these cars anymore... I used too love dusting the new 07 302 boss mustangs... pushing 300 hp... costing $35.000.... "hows it feel for a $3000 bike to own you" lol.. anyways.. were talking about a talon here... please thats like a civic almost..:P a civic with a stock turbo charger witch doesn't push more then 3 pounds of boost.. even still I'v raced a tibby and a talon from light too light... and i didnt even take my bike outta 2nd gear... i had them in my mirrors the hole way " they were small but i could still kinda see them heh" anyways long story short.. if you can ride a bike right you shouldn't ever get beaten by a street car well 99% of them anyways...

if we were talking about the new 07 z06 vet thats a different story.. but klets get real here... were talkin like 90-110 hp @ 450 "a bike" compared too 145 hp ( AT THE MOST ) @ 2500-2900 pounds "a car"

you do the math? we have three times the power at the wheel and a third of the weight

I just cant see how this is possible personally..

Wow, I agree that is isn't likely that the bike was hard on the gas, but you need to do some research on these cars.  there is no such thing as an 07 boss mustang and especially not a 302, to the best of my knowledge there has never been a civic with a stock turbo sold in the US or canada.  I'm not sure if the type R's where turboed or not, but either way they are not sold here.  Also if it was a properly built tallon there is no reason it wouldn't smoke a cbr 600.  They have issues, so it is an expensive car to build after a certain point, but lots of people have done it.  Hell I drive a 95 caprice/(impala), a 22ft long, 4000+ lbs, 4 door sedan, and I have seen videos of them doing 1/4 mile drags down in the 9's(look it up its wild).  It takes more than the avg driver to get a 600 to lay down a time like that.  Anything is possible if you can afford it, I think I will call it the "1% factor" or i suppose the >1% factor.

Wait till you guys get beat by a street car, then come back and say that bikes are unbeatable... There will always be something faster.

We kept up to a GSX1100 on the straight at Nurburgring  in a 400bhp 200SX, hehe.  Of course, at 220-230 it started pulling on us though, heh

he says it was only around 425 hp, sorry, but no way that car beat that bike, its pure bullshit.  i did some math regarding the 2006 mustang gt, and my dads bike (1978 CB750)  and the new mustang would need 460 horsepower to have a power/weight ratio comparable to that 67hp, 517 pound dinosaur.  were talking about somewhere around a 20 year younger bike, likely close to 75 lbs lighter, with 15-20 more horsepower.  nope, sorry, didnt happen if hes only got 425ish hp unless bike guy fell asleep at the line, sorry buddy

Being as this thread was givin life again i will drop in my two cents....

A mid 90's CBR huh? Bikes are fast bottom line, but a 600 of today has the power(maybe more) of a 954's and what not in the 90's.

Thats funny my buddy has a 05 600RR and he said the same thing before I smoked him on my 954.  Have you compared the dyno charts of these 2 bikes?  You should really do a little research before throwing out information that is not accurate.

lol yea really, the 954 is from like 2003 i believe? and it is just a tad (a small tad) slower than a brand new 1000.  if someone on a 600 thinks that their bike is faster, then they are nuts, lol.  the 600rr is on the same page ad the 900rr from the late 90s, but definetely not the 929's and 954's

I know a kid who has a 702hp RX-7 who freely admits to getting smoked off the line by bikes. The way he said for the car to be even with his car is to start at about 60mph. he said when he did that he was able to stay neck and neck with a GSX-R1000 and the bike still won. i think that kid is full of shit. The other day i had some kids in a new evo trying to goad me into racing them. i ignored them for most of the way but finally i wanted to shut thier little happy asses up. I ride an '03 600RR. i pulled on them bad in 1st, by the time i hit 3rd i could barely see thier lights. soooo, kid is full of shit.

not sure if you guys scrolled down that link but a few guys on the forum told him he was probably racing something smaller than a cbr 600.

Nice one, I ride a 97 cbr 600 over here in the UK and I have done loads of Porcshe 911 turbos, the odd ferrari and countless lambo's, all my mates who are into there tuned cars always say that their cars will do my bike but when I ask them to prove it they get all shy. yeah there are a few cars out there (not many) that will do a cbr 600 but they cost a damn lot more than my £2000 bike, and even then once they get stuck in traffic I will soon be miles in front!
