Ok guys well here we go ! These are the results from the 2008 Honda CBR 1000RR. The work was done by Action Cycle Performance Center in Spring Valley, New York. A company sought after for the their performance work.

I had em' installed a PC III they custom mapped it and then to the dyno machine.

I think "motorcycle.com" had the pre-results just about right !

Here is an excerpt I got from motorcycle.com:

"Getting Honda representatives to divulge closely held information is easier than getting al-Qaeda to talk, but not by much. Still, a short waterboarding session revealed this new 1000RR is pushing nearly 7% more power. Our 2007 CBR test bike cranked out a rather modest 148 hp, so we expect this new one to spit out nearly 160 hp at its rear wheel."

My 2008 CBR 1K results: Keep in mind weather effects results too !

- 5/5/08    Run Conditions: 75 degrees
Max power =147.02   Max Torque = 75.11

- 5/5/08    Run Conditions: 81 degrees
Max power = 154.07  Max Torque = 77.97

Before this work was done, I used to pull wheelies in 3rd, 4th gear, so I could imagine with this bike is like now...not bad....not bad.

Any thoughts...

What rpm did it peak at in hp/tq. Did it still drop off around 10,800?

154 isn't all that bad... I love the new 08 more and more every day.

It's crazy that the 08 GSXR 1000 is puttin down more than 170 that thing must be absolutely nuts to ride.

Gixxer WILL NOT put down more than 170! No liter bike will stock.....thats a generous dyno doing that. Not to bad from the Honda, I would like to hear of someone in the UK dyno there bike. I got good word there ECU really is different and will make more hp....like 10-15 more!

Actually a little higher at or around 11,800 rpm. Then it starts to drop..

According to this shop, he told me that bike companies tend to magnify the numbers but in actuality, the hp/tq is usally 15 % less than indicated in stock bikes.

I'm not lookin to drag race this machine but I know for 100% for sure this machine is much much faster than the previous 04' CBR 1k I had.

I'm quite satisfied with this machine and just did the dyno/PC III as a result of changing from stock pipe to 2 Brothers slip-on and wanted it to be as tuned as possible.

I watched an 07 Gixxer put down 175 (PC3 and yoshi slip on) right in front of me... my 954 went up next and put down 138 (D&D slip on)...

I would tend to think that a busa or ZX-14 would put down those kinds of 170 somethings ponies..

But again.. weather, region, dynos, nitris, mods etc can make all the difference.

Or the dude Ghost Rider from the UK with that crazy ass 499 rwhp BUSA that'll put you in a loop as soon as you touch the throttle ...lol

Same here... does anyone know where the power band is on this bike? Just got out of break in and ran it past 6K today - up until now wasn't really that impressed with the bike. That changed this afternoon  Seems to pick up just around 7K but didn't have enough road ahead to run it much past 8K because at that point was running 105MPH and running out of road.

PC and a slip on! I can see it doing that on some dynos. A well tuned Gixxer with full pipe and pc can do 175+. I still want to hear more about a UK 1000RR.

I know of a few riders with Hayabusas who dynoed their bikes with one of em' being my brother and the results indicated 156 and with some mods..it then kicked out 167 hp..  Thats a HAYABUSA..  how does a gixxer produce more hp than a hayabusa ??

So I guess my machine is running close to that hayabusa....lol   pretty good for a 1000cc

What year Busa? Earlier ones did make mid 150's stock and 160's with mods. Newer models make in the 160's, while the 08's make over 170 without a prob. The weight savings is what makes 1000's close in performance obviously.

yeah..makes sense...my bros. was a 2001 and the other guy was I believe a 2002 busa.

But..on the other hand companies as I've mentioned tend to amp. the numbers too..

What companies don't wanna make their machine be better than the next..
