Will an F3 gas tank fit on a 1991 F2? What modifications would I have to make to make this work? I read the F2 petcock doesn't work with the F3 tank, but I need to know if I can use the F3 tank with an F3 petcock on my F2.

I looked around for an answer...no dice. Please help!

Tank will fit,bolts right up.

Paint won't match, color schemes are different.

F2 petcock is vacuum actuated,F3 petcock is not.F3's are assisted with a fuel pump, hence no need for a vacuum line from the cylinder head.

Not exactly, The F2 petcock IS vacuum actuated, but that is just for on/off actuation. The vacuum line has nothing to do with pumping fuel. I don't know why Honda thought it was necessary to use a fuel pump on the F3 but I use an F3 petcock on a F2 tank with a see through after market in-line filter and it flows awesome. There is absolutely NO REASON why you can't use a F3 petcock on either a F2 or F3 tank on a CBR600F2.
I talked to a Suzuki mechanic a while ago and he said Suzuki had decided to use Vacuum petcocks on most of their cruisers and inexpensive bikes like the GZ250 because the typical buyer of these bikes doesn't understand and doesn't want to have to deal with a manual petcock. The motorcycle companies expect sport bikers to be a slightly smarter bunch.
