So I'm about ready to get rid of the coffee can and am in the market for a slip on.  I went on pipecity.com (cheapest place I've found for the cans, anyone know of a cheaper place?) and found what seems like a pretty good deal on 3 slip-ons: Arrow ($270.00), Jardine RT-1($277.00), and a Yoshimura RS-3 ($280.68). I also found an aluminum Scorpion on E-bay. Long story short, I am curious if anyone has some sound clips of these on a 954RR (I went on the sound-clips section of this forum already and didn't find these pipes specifically; also did a youtube search with not much luck) so that I may make a better decision.  Also, do i have to make any other changes (i remember years ago I had to jet my old FZR when i installed a full exhaust system) when installing a slip-on? Any insight would be much appreciated.

Lots of good questions! I'm glad to see you've already done research before you start spouting off silly questions.  As for pricing goes, that's definitely a good site I have heard of them doing super cheap stuff from time to time.  Also, as you've already stated eBay is your best option on prices.

As for sound clips, try going to the manufacturs website, and Google Video as well.  Another good thing (although it's a bit tedious) is go to the search function on the forum and see if you can find it like that.

As for installation, so for a slip on, it's a 30-60 minute job and requires no jetting or anything you're bike is fuel injected.  Just some bolts and what not.  It should come with instructions.

I had a jardine and for a slip on it was pritty loud, and i will say i had a lot of compliments on how it sounded compared to my two friends (also had 954's with slip on) one had a scorpion and the other had a two brothers or a micron, I cant remember but mine was the loudest. maybe you dont want the loudest but i like to be heard

I have the yoshi rs-3 on my bike. It isn't much louder than the stock exhaust. I am very unhappy with it and am looking to get a micron. I've heard microns on other cbr's and they sound really good.

thanks mikes03954RR, I will steer clear of the Rs-3. Does anyone have vids or soundclips with any of the pipes mentioned above?

I have a two brothers M-2 on mine and I get MANY compliments on how great it sounds. Not too loud but has a real deep growl to it especially in the mid RPM ranges.

I wish i had a sound clip but i dont. The Jardine is about mid level loud of whats out there, most of my friends say it sounds "racey" not "ricey". I just cut 7" out of it couple weeks ago and now its pretty loud. 1 of my friends said it scared the shit outa him when i clutched up a wheelie the other day, and my good buddy says its the baddest thing he has ever heard . Says when i rev to clutch it up it just screams power, his words not mine. For me between the fit, finish, and sound i dont think i will ever buy a different brand of pipe again. Also extremely well constructed, trust me i cut it in half .

yeah, the jardine appears to be well built,  i just wish i could hear one on a 954. Same for the Arrow...I've heard a Suzook with one on, but never a 954. Brewcity, the two brothers does sound sick, but it is just out of reach for me (trying to keep it under $290).

@Mikes03954RR: he he, Honda pipe is always quiet. My 954 always sings the engine song not the pipe song  If you're unhappy with RS-3, sell me, I'm looking for 2nd pipe to replace the stock one.
