I put a camera mount on my bike, but in the process I stript the screws on the right and left of the Main middle one. I was wondering how I can replace the outer ring on the gas cap, Keeping the key lock, and put a new outer ring on it.

I want to take the camera mount off but that leaves the two screws that won't tighten.

From memory there are only 4 scews that actually hold the cap onto the tank (top, bottom, left & right) the rest are dummies. You could try tracking down one at a wreckers, or maybe using thread tape may fix it just as easy.

That's right. There are only 3 bolts that actually hold the gas cap on, and the two I'm talking about are cosmetic. I can not leave the cosmetic bolts out because it leaves a hold for the "element" to get in to the tank. Something that I would like to avoid.

I think I can just glue them in place...Would anyone know what kind of glue I would need??

TIA

If you're going to go that route I would use JB Weld sparingly.

That's funny I was going to offer you some of my bolts for the camera mount but it's not the bolts you're having a problem with, lol.  Good luck, man.

You could swap it, and if I'm not mistaken it's simply a recessed pin that holds the cap on the ring.  Punch it out and swap.

Could you explain to me how the "recessed" pin holds the cap to the ring? I would like to reuse the mount someday, It's just in my way when it's not being used.
