I was putting my bike back together and someone forgot to put the air ducts on just so i could run it sooner. SO my question is exactly how important are they? The bike runs ok, it sounds deeper than normal, but then again I just put a KN filter and PC3 on it. What do you think?  Thanks

Well more air would escape through the hole if they werent there, which would be less efficient at diverting air into the engine, but i would at least put tape over it or something.  Takes what, like 5 minutes max? lol..

I do believe those are just chambers to keep the bike level down. Its just gonna suck more air (more dirty air from those 2 holes) id tape it up with duct tape or something or maybe put a plug on top of em. I dont know what those do besides lessen the sound its pretty stupid.

It is so it passes noise level restrictions.  All bikes have weird shit like that on 'em.  My VFR has a valve on top of the airbox that closes when cruising at low engine load to keep sound down.
