haha cheap?? no... its kind of hard to get more power out of these bikes trying to be cheap.. low end torque is always hard. Slip on exhausts don't change performance so you'd have to get a full but your looking around 700 and up for that.

Change the sprockets smaller front and bigger rear, makes a whole new bike out of it...

Sprocket would be your best deal for your money.   You're not really producing more power but just changing the way its used and I think you'd be happy with it unless you use your bike to do 150+mph runs.

Definitely sprockets, you will feel it while accelerating.

I will have to look into changing the sprockets thanks for the heads up.  Ya i dont plan on doing 150mph runs any one know what the 2000 cbr f4 tops out at?

I do believe the Canadian model tops out (speed limmiter in the computer) at 255Km's, about 160Mph, stock sprockets 16/45.  The magic number is believed to be 15/47, which is supposed to be 255Km's at 13.5K rpm, max redline at speed limmiter in 6th gear.  I tried the magic number, and still use it, with the 520 conversion.  The rpm's are at 13.2 - 13.6 (the bit of head shake makes it hard to read) and about 255Km's on the speedo, but my speedo is out by about 11% since the sprocket conversion.  I have to get a speedo healer and then I'll post actual speed at redline.  But I do like the torque increase, good ratio for the street.  I dust 5.0's and Hemi's like they're nothin'!

Bumble Bee -> RE: any ideas for cheap power??? (5/15/2008 7:02:26 AM)

Sprokets all the way.  I have the RK/Vortex 520 kit on my bike 15/45 and the 520 chain and it helped some down low.  I still may go to a 47 on the rear.  The kit came with the -1 front a ALUM 45 rear and the 520 chain.  My local dealer got me the kit for $166.00.

Like was said there is no cheap way to get more power out for these bikes so you have to fine ways to better harness it.

I believe -1 +2 (15/47) is the max you can go on a stock chain.  You will gain in acceleration, but lose about 10-15mph off of your top speed.  I had that setup on my zx6r with speedohealer.

With my F4 I'm going up +8 in the rear, but I am making a stunt bike out of it.

2QK4U2C -> RE: any ideas for cheap power??? (5/22/2008 8:32:59 AM)

i have -1/+3 on my 2000 F4 and I LOVE IT!!!  Much more power low end...still a top speed of 149mph!

DuDuTzu -> RE: any ideas for cheap power??? (5/22/2008 3:45:39 PM)

if I'd change to -1/+2(or +3) how about the mileage?
if the speedometer is out 11% that means the mileage will be out 11% too?
