Hola compadres,
Every time I fill the tank I reset the clock to 0’s, but riding in the city I never get more than 100 kilometers before I need to re-fill again, is this a normal consumption rate for city riding? Of course on road trips I get much better mileage (what is your average distance on a full tank?). Also I have another comment, according with the manual, it states that the tank capacity is 22 liters and the reserve tank is 3.5 liters, this means that the whole tank has a complete capacity of 25.5? anyone has rushed the gas reserve to the limit? Is this something healthy for the filters, one day somebody told me that if you use the very last drop of fuel you had the chance of clogging the gasoline filter because at the bottom of the tank there is a lot of dirt and sediments.

250 K's average before reserve, 300 K's ar 140 KPH long hauling before reserve.
Tank 18.5 +3.5l reserve = 22 L
Don't run it too low - gets muck in the filters.

I'm sure the whole tank capacity is 22 litres. 18.5 litres + a reserve of 3.5.
Your fuel consumption seem very high to me. If I only got 60 miles to a full tank the bike would be too much of a luxury to afford.
I get 170 miles to a full tank if I ride at less than go to jail speeds.

Thanks guys, it seems high to me too, but I do not get smoke or stains and the spak plugs come in decent shape every time I replace them, so probably it's a matter of my clock indicators, probably they are not giving an accurate riding in both kilometers run ad the fuel gauge, not sure hmmm??

i usualy get 100km to just under 10 L never have enought cash to fill the tank but since fuel prices have gone up my 10 quid doesnt go that far any more so put £15 and get about 150km thats mainly town use aswell:)

I usually get between 160 and 190 miles from a tank down to reserve.( depends on how I ride )

When I fill it back up it normally takes about 18 / 19 litres.

I'm with Dean0. I've been keeping my eye on this too. It seems around town, 160 miles to reserve, a lot of highway 185 miles to reserve.

I'm a very big bloke and ride the tits off mine and I still manage to get 200km before reserve.

Sounds to me like your floats are sticking or petrol is leaking.

Is it safe to say that since the Cane's speedometer is off by about 10% that everyones fuel range is too?  Luis, is your drive train stock?  AM exhaust?  NOX? (kidding on the last one!)

I can get ~ 250km out of a tank here.   Gas here is $1.30 per litre for the good stuff......20.00 to fill...never thought I'd see the day....

Here is Adelaide South Australia fuel is between $1.40 & $1.60 depending where we are in the weekly cycle. That's just for normal unleaded not premium.
I use my bike for commuting more often than not & my average is 250-260km till reserve. I tend to ride in fifth gear though so my revs are about 2800 @ 60 km. If you are only getting 100km out of a tank with no smoke or fouling of the plugs then it can only be leaking somewhere. If there are not any puddles or stains under the bike where you normally park it it must be one or more floats or a leaky fuel line. Fuel line is easy to visually check while the bike is running (under pressure). If the fuel overflow hoses are not showing leakage at the same time whilst on the centre stand then I suggest that you remove the carbies clean them with some carbie cleaner, check the float levels & try again.
My gauge also shows reserve long before I'm even close to it in reality.

Went out on a good haul yesterday.  I was getting 360km on my first tank.  Lots of hard driving on snaky turns and twice made it over 200km!!  Fvcking WILD!.  When I filled it, it took 19 liters so from the 22 liters max, there was still 3 liters left in the tank.  My reserve was on hard (like the needle was sitting as far left as it could go for 15 minutes) for 30 km.  I was thinking it would die anytime, but it made it to the next drinking hole!  I love this bike........

if u love this bike so much, why not get a cbr1000rr, to me these old girls are like driving the old V8 holdens to the new hrt's (cbr RR's)

Thank you all for your comments, I will go check the fuel line, I do remember some three months ago I had a very little leak right in the hose that goes from the tank to the shut off/on/reserve knob which I duck taped (the way of fixing your bike here in Mex), I will check that spot and see if the duck tape wore out, so I would need to put a fresh piece of tape (...just kidding!!) will have it properly changed this time. But never realized that this tinny hole could let escape that much gas.
