FS 2001 RVT1000R RC51.

weeble1 -> FS 2001 RVT1000R RC51. (5/14/2008 11:19:14 AM)

I have a 2001 RC51 for sale. This bike is my baby but I am going to be shipped to Texas for Border Patrol training so I need to sell it. The bike reads around 4,000 miles but in actuality it is around 10,000 miles.

I purchased the bike in july of 07 and the guy I got it from told me about some issues he was having with the gauge cluster. Shortly after I got it the cluster fried. I believe the bike had about 7,700 miles on it (it is on the title which my bank has)I can call if you like and get the exact mileage. I bought a cluster with 1,800 miles on it and it now reads just over 4,000. I still ride the bike so the miles may change a little. The bike was in a VERY low speed low side but has VERY minimal damage. You can see in the pictures.

I replaced the left fairing with one from an 03+ RC51 (all RC51 fairings bolt right up to all year RC51s). Tank was replaced and so was the tail. Tank is MINT and the tail in the pictures is NOT the tail currently on the bike. The tail on the bike is nicer and has less damage. Upper just has normal wear on it and a small chip out of the top right. For an extra $325 I can take the upper and side fairings off and get a set of MINT fairings (upper and sides). It will actually cost me about $600 to get it all but I would only ask $325.

Nice Pilot Powers on it. I ONLY used Repsol semi synthetic and it has been changed three times now in my ownership (just changed it over the weekend). Chain and sprockets are in good shape. Bike Needs nothing! Ready to ride!

If you don't know about the RC51 then you probably shouldn't buy it. It is not for unexperienced riders. TONS of torque. By far the best bike I have ever owned.

It has a few extras... Jardine Ti low mount slip ons, PCIIIR (NEW in box), Flapper mod, stock exhaust and many other spare parts. Give me a call with any questions at all.

This bike really is nice. NO mechanical issues at all. Runs awesome and you can't beat that twin growl. I know that the issue with the cluster may make you think twice about the bike but what I said is the complete truth. If I was trying to screw somebody over I would tell you that the bike has 4K on it instead of telling you the actual mileage. Again, I haven't even had this bike a year and I really took good care of her. I don't want to see it go but I really don't have a choice.

I'm in Northern Va (Manassas) But I am willing to drive a couple hours or possibly more depending on the sale price.

Thanks a lot for looking!
I'm ASKING $5450 but I am open to REASONABLE offers. I will not trade because i still owe on the bike.

Beauty bike man, if it wasn't so far away I'd be tempted to sell mine, and buy this....but I wanna get more experience riding before moving up to a bike like that! and its too far away

Good luck on the sale!  I'm sure who ever buys will love it!

Mike_C. -> RE: FS 2001 RVT1000R RC51. (5/23/2008 3:28:31 PM)

weeble1 -> RE: FS 2001 RVT1000R RC51. (5/23/2008 8:37:25 PM)

Thanks Samsfire. Where ya located? And if you don't have experience with bikes then you really shouldn't buy an RC. Not because of speed because they aren't that fast, just lots of torque. It can get ya in trouble quick :)

Mike_C That is an AWESOME bike. I love the fireblades. Soooo sexy. Let me know if ya sell her. Thanks guys
Josh
