2 WIRE FLUSHMOUNTS

i have tried everything... every wire combonation.. but they are still acting as running lights... and when i turn the blinker on it blinks so fast its not even a noticable signal light. I just want effin signals.. can someone help me.. i have looked all over the forums.. and probably all the stuff on flushmounts cuz i searched it... thanks

When you hook up your flush mounts, you loose your running lights (only a 2 wire/single circut). If you want running lights too, you need a three wire/2 circut design flush mount. With the two wire design, on the stator side of the bike, the colours are red and green. Red is hot, green is ground. On the clutch side, the blue is hot and the green is ground. To slow them down you need to install a resistor block(s), LED's have less resistance than the stock incondescent lamp. If you put LED's in the rear too, you will also need another resistor block(s), which you can get at your local dealer for about $10 - $15 each, front or rear. Make sure that if there is only one resistor block in the package, that it will do both left/right turn signals. If there is only 2 wires on the resistor block it then it will only control one light. If it is a 3 wire resistor block, then it will control 2 lights, (it will also have 2 diodes, one on each line which will already be installed, usually).

i realize that i think... the problem is.. it is acting as running lights and signals! i don't know how. If it is connected to the blue striped wire on the clutch side then it will work as both... now if it connected to the solid blue wire nothing will happen?? WHY! it should be acting as the blinker should it not?

The blue/white and red/white wire is for the hot side for the running lights, the solid blue and solid red is for the hot side of the flasher circut, 2 seperate circuts that share a common ground. Don't use the blue/white or red/white wires. You loose the running lights with a 2 wire flush mount.

thats how i have it hooked up right now... the thing is i am not gettin any flash

you cannot hook a 2 wire signal up as a running light and a blinker..just wont happen. They are blinking fast because the resistance in LED's is much less than the resistance in bulbs. You will need to add one of those non-inductive resistors in parallel with each LED blinker for them to blink at a normal rate. Heres a tutorial: http://cbrworld.net/forums/thread/141166.aspx

OP, you are very confusing. You said they are acting as running lights, but they blink really fast when you turn on your blinkers. If I read that correctly, you DID get them to blink. As many have said, use the SOLID colored wires (orange and blue per side) and GROUND. The STRIPED wires are for the running lights. So with your 2-wire setup, if you connect to the solid and ground, when you turn on your bike nothing will happen. When you flip the signal, they will blink (really fast). To fix your fast-blink problem, you have 2 options. First is resistor blocks as the AJLong and Redz has said. Second, you have the option of DOT-speed digital relay replacement. Option 2 makes all lights blink at the same standard DOT rate regardless if its a LED/Standard combo or a LED/LED combo between front and rear.

i figured it out after a few hours of working on it... Initially i had it as the solid blue and striped blue connected to the yellow and black respectively. This eminated a solid running light and when the blinker was turned on to signal it would just barely flicker. I did this on the other side too. Next i tried the solid blue connected to the yellow as everyone was saying... and nothing even lit up. So i was gettin pissed off cuz i tried it numerous times and nothing would ever happen. Finally i was just figiting and put two wires together and realized i was an idiot because the signals were backwards when i did it. So if i turned on the right signal the left would flash. So i thought for a second that would be pretty sweet cuz no one would know where the hellyour going lol but i eventually fixed it. Now they are signals... thank you for your help:D
