So, I decided to ride the double R to work this morning.  I stopped for gas about halfway to work.  I pull in and put my credit card in the pump.  (Yes, credit card - not debit card.  Apparently, someone tried to use my debit card about a week ago to purchase something online.  The transaction was denied and my bank calls to alert me.  Since I had no idea about the transaction, they canceled my debit card and I still don’t have my new one yet.  That’s ok, though.  From now on, I am using credit only.  It’s safer I think.  At least if someone hijacks my credit card, they won’t have immediate access to the money in my bank account.  I’ll use credit for everything then write them a check each month.)  Anyway ... the pump takes forever to authorize.  Finally, it goes though.  I select 93 octane and proceed to try to pump my fuel.  Credit card is read, the pump is on, but no gas is coming out after several minutes.  Ugh!  So, I go in the store and ask them to turn on pump four.  "Oh, you have to prepay," she says (which is another rant for another day - having to prepay sucks!)  I told her I used my credit card and the pump is on but no gas is coming out.  "Oh, well he (whoever he is) won't let me put a sign up, but we are out of 93 and 89;  all we have is regular." WTF?  Whatever.  I ask her to cancel it and she says it will cancel once I hang the pump back up.  Total waste of time;  good thing I left my house early.  Oh well, it was gonna cost me $4.29 a gallon there anyway.  I can get it cheaper near where I work.  To make matters even better, some geniuses decided to do some work on the road near the gas station without bothering to clean up after words.  At this particular spot, there is a very sharp curve.   Now there is loose gravel, sand, and grit all over that curve.  Bad news for a bike.  It will be the death of me.  I’m telling you.
