dont really know what is goin on with the bike but it wont fire up.  when i first got the bike out after winter, i had no problems at all.  had just put on a full d&d exhaust and it was runnin fine (a lil rough around 3-5k but figured it was just the new headers and pipe).  rode it to work the other day and when i came back out to leave it started up but died when i gave it gas.  let it warm up for a while and it took off fine.  next morning it started right up and i rode it about 40 miles to class.  when i went back out after class, it started up but died when i tried to take off.  wouldnt start back up so i had to call the gf to come pick me up.  went up with the trailor today to get it so i could try to figure out what was wrong.  all the plugs look good and im gettin spark.  took the petcock off and it is workin.  didnt pull the carbs all the way off but they looked clean.  im thinkin i may have a clogged jet or somethin.  i was hopin i wouldnt have to pull the carbs but its lookin like im gonna have to give em a good cleaning.  just wonderin is anyone has any ideas as to what the problem may be.  thanks in advance!!!

Age old advice...try putting some Seafoam in it. You can pick the stuff up at NAPA and other auto parts store. If that doesn't work, pull the carbs and clean out the jets. Could also replace your plugs and check the wires.

If you cant get anything out of it, it sounds like  your going to have to pull the carbs...If they are clogged up you wont get any seafoam through it.

update...

pulled the carbs tonight and almost everything is squeaky clean.  took a look at the idle jets and cant see through two of them at all and the other two are pretty  gummed up.  gonna clean them out tomorrow and re-jet as soon as my jet kit gets in.  thanks again fellas!

For as much as everyone endorses this seafoam product I think if you're having engine troubles it simply isn't going to get the job done and you should just skip it and go straight to cleaning the carbs manually.  and like redzintimidator said, if its not running, its not going to get any seafoam through the carbs.
