Thats what they use anyway.  I work with carbon fiber daily (making tanks, not car/bike parts) its just a two part epoxy.  I guess they probably use some sort of laquer to put it on that thick, but as long as its smooth in the end, it'd work just fine.

Damn FLY, I was expecting the worst when I saw the post.
A tip over is nothin, my bike tipped over 6 days after I bought on an up-hill gravel driveway.

Still SUCKS none the less.

Sorry to hear about the bike ... do you know what makes it worse when these things happen ... they always seem to be in slow motion ... it's like your mind speeds up so you see the bike going over and have loads of time to be horrified at what damage she will sustain ..lol

I've seen worse, but it still bites, when its your see something like than on your bike. I had a BMW that had one of those stupid self retracting sidestands (side stand went up when you raised the bike) Park on anything other than flat ground (even in gear) would see these buggers falling over, I replaced mine with a normal set up. But many other owners where dertermined to put up with, cos it was "Original", so it was not uncommon to see many new beemers with big cracks & chunks out of their fairings. The other nightmare bikes are Motto Guzzi sidestands, but they lean so far over their almost touching the ground anyway. I'd say leave as is, but I can guess wot you will doing on the week end.

Sorry to hear abuot the drop, but at least you were not hurt and the bike is fine overall.  Last Saturday I hit a big pot hole with my car and killed one of my nice ass 17's and all I could do was joke about it and order a new one so i'm glad your joking about this.  I was looking into stator covers and they are $100.00 no what where you get them.  I think it can be sanded and re-cleared.

Well, Just dropped it again. Was doing a u-turn and didn''t counter-balance enough. I put my right foot down when she started to go and my knee gave out. I still dunno how the Eff it happened.

So more damage: Scuff marks on the right faring this time.

WTF is wrong with me? I''ve been riding for a year and I''ve dropped it twice in 2 weeks. WTF is going on! I just want to throw her in the garage for the rest of the summer.
