I'm short.  My feet barely reach the ground, the balls of my feet are all that touches the ground.  It was recommended to me to shave the foam inside the seat of my 98 CBR 600 F3 so that my legs would stand straighter instead of sticking out to the sides when I'm stradling my bike.  Has anyone out there tried to make their seat thinner?  How were the results and how did you do it?

The balls of my feet are all that touch on mine too, but really thats all you need (unless trying to back the bike up an incline that can be a pain) but i wouldnt really worry about doing anything else

You shouldn't have smoked as a teenager.  It's stunted your growth.

I smoked all thru my teenage years, and I'm almost 6'-4"... good thing or I'd be like 7' tall!!

And don't get a 600RR if your short, it's taller than the normal rider position.  Good for us taller guys, but would be problems for shorter guys, I'd reckon.

Suzuki gsxr 600's have the lowest ride height from what I've read. But who knows, lower the bike? How short are you? I'm 5'8 or so, and I can just barely reach on the balls of my feet too. You don't really need to reach flat footed.
