Hey all, I just joined the site about 3 minutes ago so here's my first question, has anyone done a tune up on the 2000 600cc f4? I was wondering what all I'm going to need, how in depth is it? I'm going to get a book for the bike tomorrow so I have some help but didn't want to dive into this and realize I screwed myself.

welcome!! I'm pretty new myself.  Seems like the most common things for a tune up are:  clean out the carbs (jets specifically) and sync the carbs.  If you check the how-to section, there is a good write up showing how to clean the carbs (but it leaves out the jets).  There's a bunch of good how-to's dealing with most things you'll need.

Depending how old the gas is in the tank, change that out.  When you fill up the tank, through 4 onces of seafoam into the tank.  I did it this year and the bike runs great.
Pull a plug, see how it looks and change if needed.
Lift the tank and check out the air filter, again change if needed.
Clean the chain if needed.
Ask the previous owner when they did their last oil change, then change the oil anyway.
This should give you enough to do.
