Yea, that's the proto-type from Taylormade.  They're still working on the fuel mapping and dyno testing.  Looks and sounds great!

Here''s the most recent response from Taylormade:  Dated June 16th:

Dear Honda Rider -

I keep getting calls and emails asking for more information on the new
TaylorMade underbelly exhaust kit for the 08 CBR 1000 RR.

  Well, here''s the scoop folks:

We will have kits in stock and ready for sale by July 1st. The retail
price will be $899. Initial dyno tests no major gains or losses anywhere
along the curve, but we are hoping for gains up top with the dynojet
ignition module. Weight savings are substantial, a good 10 pounds less than
stock.

For those of you who can not wait another second to put this beauty on
your bike, we will have 3 (THREE) kits available to ship next week. I will
sell these kits with free shipping and a taylormade t shirt to the first 3
U.S. based retail customers who call me.

  Regards,

Is there any heat relief going with aftermarket exhaust?  I am very new to the 1000rr and am seriously saving to get the taylormade kit. I think this bike has enough power so no movement in that department won''t steer me away from this system.  I agree with others that it is great looking and the loss of 10lbs is cool too.  I have read here about cool-it and dei and want to know more about those items too.
Thanks!

nifty, but i''m not spending 900 dollars on an exhaust that doesn''t do anything.  /shrug

besides I like the way the stock exhaust looks. I always have new people asking me who custom made it.

bout as clean as it gets. if i had a G to drop I guess I would grab one, but that''s a pretty penny for no real gains.

That does look sweet. Any idea how much noise it makes? There''s pretty strict db-level requirements here on some tracks. Won''t be riding, if it''s louder than 97db.

Will this setup bring additional tubing under the engine? That might make oil changes a pain.

i wonder if you tune it with a power commander or a juice box if you could get some gains out of it. love the look but i need some performance also.

I just picked up the Jardine RT-5 Carbon for my 08.  And I have to say i''m very happy with the quality and the sound.
